Which is exactly why I followed it up with Wolve's Den Roulette. Yes you'd have people split into different brackets, but a Roulette effectively gives players in a higher bracket reason to enter lower ones. A daily boost of PvP EXP and Wolf Marks, and a permanent boost to Wolf Marks for the in need bonus (or whatever rewards could be) should effectively counteract the negatives of splitting the queues into brackets.

Why would you bother queuing for Frontlines if Wolves' Den functioned though? Faster queues (requires 8 people instead of 24). Faster matches. More people would do Wolves' Den for ranking up and Wolf Marks and Frontlines queues would be worse than they currently are. It would be the opposite problem with have now; the majority would queue for Wolves' Den and the minority would queue for Frontlines, except the issue would be much worse for Frontlines given the numbers required. If it's taking people over 300 minutes to get into 4v4 matches when it's the less popular of the two, imagine the queues on 8v8v8 matches if the same were true for Frontlines.

I've posted elsewhere why I hope they'll never do that, and given the infrastructure around Frontlines I doubt they will. How would one go about "Guiding the Twin Adder to 100 Frontline victories" if Frontlines is reduced to Fangs verses Claws verses Other? The issue with Frontlines isn't that it is a static team based event, it's that they gave zero purpose to the teams. People generally join a team for a reason, and Grand Companies in Frontlines have no reason. They should attempt fixing that before gutting the content, in my opinion.

    1) I mean... I intend no offense, but you know there's already an i80 bracket for Wolves' Den right? It hasn't helped. I see what you're trying to accomplish, but you're trying to tackle an issue of people not being interested in Wolves' Den with an irrelevant solution.

That, but now that I see what you mean... What kind of weight would you expect? Something that bleeds into PvE? Definitely not. Buffs or detriments that affect the winners or losers in PvP? ... lol no. People are still going to be interested in FL, but frankly, most people care more about their FCs than their GCs. The only people who care for the GC restriction are either lore crazed or have few to no friends in other GC's.

No, actually. And I'm not seeing it on my Duty Finder, either. Just the same old Lv30, Lv40, Matched and Pre-made options. No sign of a i80 sync in any of them. Was there a quest to unlock it or something?

Why not? Such a thing doesn't have to be limited to PvP. Final Fantasy XI didn't involve PvP in its rankings at all if I remember correctly, it was mainly just "Who grinded the most seals?", the results of Frontlines matches could just be a part of it.

I'm neither. Lore doesn't make me enjoy Frontlines, running into the same people (from other servers) does. That's made possible by having static teams. Give me the same Fangs verses Claws thing and that falls away completely. When I kill and Manderville a Flames healer, I don't really want them ending up on my team for the next round. Partly because I Manderville'd them, but mostly because I killed them so I assume they suck. I'd rather have the same healer I just had who's name I recognize instantly at the start of every match because we're always on the same team because teams are tied to Grand Companies.

The only part of my suggestion which aimed to get people interested in Wolves' Den was the Roulette part. The rest was just for maintaining balanced matches rather than throwing players against each other randomly (which Rank matching currently does a terrible job of). If there's already an i80 bracket then fair enough, rather than a i55/i70/i90/i100/i110 Roulette we can have a Lv30/Lv40/i80 Roulette, though I do abhor any level capped situation in this game.

Go to Wolves' Den Pier and talk to the roegadyn behind the main desk. It is not a quest. It will just flag upon talking.

I don't know how it goes on Primal but all I hear on these forums is about Maelstrom "supremacy" there. I see you're a Storm. And I now see you're trying to protect that lol, cool ulterior motives brobeans.

They really should give him a quest flag for that...

Actually I'm in Twin Adder. Was on Primal for a bit too, Chaos seems exactly the same, there is no "supremacy", all the Grand Companies win, and all the Grand Companies lose. Sometimes Maelstrom gets a winning streak, other times Flames do. The only difference I see between them is that people in Maelstrom like to parrot "MAELSTRONG" over and over. It's actually quite funny to come out of your third match and third win of the day to see people in Maestrom shouting it. Again; this wouldn't even be a thing if it was another case of Claws verses Fangs. It's a part of Frontlines I really enjoy, and I'd hate to lose it.

Why does every "debate" on these forums always devolve into "I'm going to look up your account"? =/

Here we go, this the best argument people defending GC restrictions can come up with, besides lolLore argument.

How can anyone reason that having people derptalking about their gc like "LOL MAELSTRONK HAHAH" is a reason for having even 1 freaking minute, and sadly the effect is usually a lot larger than that, longer on the queues?!
This is not gameplay relevant and this is not an argument.

Also huge discrepancies exist on winrates across datacenters for each gc, with maelstrom taking the 1st place in most dcs, with huge gaps too. And they are right on the lodestone for everyone to see.

PvP systems need to focus on assuring the basic functions are met first and foremost- quick queues and balanced and fun gameplay
Gc restrictions on the other hand contribute negatively to all of those basic functions therefore it has to go, and unless someone can actually argue against this sorry but don't bother responding.

Also the answer as to why they don't bother much with what we say about Wolves' Den and pvp in general has been given by this guy

Sad but real truth. Their queues, for example, work (much better than for US/EU at least) because the interest is that much bigger in their servers and since they are the number 1 market/priority, things don't change.. hell we don't even get answers/comments on our threads..

As for the whole rank matchmatching thing, yeah it makes no sense right now, it made some sense when the Den was somewhat active, now you can barely get a match.. just needs to go, it's specially absurd for the i80sync matches, ridiculous even..

The real problem for the PvP of FF is that the community is not manifest enough ... In PvE things change as people slows and expressed ...
If more people gave their opinion, express their wishes. Maybe that Square Enix would move a little more for PvP ...

This game need ranked arena , remove rank restriction... some more PvP area's for front and wolves den... and will be perfect .

I think in my case, enough to open my mouth all over the forum to move the PvP in this game ...
