Judge A: "Wow. This shot is AMAZING. The dirt on your face. the expression - you really look like you've exhausted all your energy but that sun is relentless. Extremely well done composition-wise, great job! " Score: 3

Judge B: "I’m wondering what the hell happened with you o_o. Your shots for the first 3 Rounds weren’t that impressive to me at all and suddenly, you pretty much nail your shot in this Round. Using this lone tree and leaning your back against it since you seem really exhausted was a really good idea. The expression and that change of make-up to make it look like there’s dirt on your face add to this as well. The background you choose is really good as well, especially with that scorching sun up in the sky. I hope you’ll deliver some more awesome shots in the next rounds since this one here shows us, that you definitely have the potential to do so :3" Score: 3

Judge C: "This is the best shot I've seen from you so far. The outfit works and the colors blend in nicely. The way the sun hits so that the lense flare adds a little touch to the heat of the beating sun, and all the background elements fit in nicely. The expression you have really shows that you're struggling and all of it blended together make it look like a shot from a movie scene with a good cinematographer. Keep up with more shots like this!" Judge D: "Adam oh Adam I’m so proud of you this round. You, in my not so humble opinion, nailed this round’s theme. You look lost, dejected, hot, miserable and just ready to give up on finding civilization. Location, setting, composition are all spot on. I have nothing bad to say about this shot. Judge A: "This isn't a bad shot necessarily, but it does feel like the pose is a little out of place. If there's any additional sun-minion lighting, it does feel like it's a bit too much and washing you out. That being said, the background you've chosen is fantastic and really sets the scene with how vast it is. The issue is you're not just adding much to it. " Score: 1

Judge B: "Well… I feel like your shot for this round is a bit underwhelming compared with those of the other contestants. The pose you choose would work, if I’d know why you chose it. Are you preparing to fight with something? Are you scared that you’re lost? Or did you just use this pose because you didn’t have any better ideas? The background is a bit lacking as well. It doesn’t really give of that feel of you being lost (basically, because you can see Byregot’s Strike in the picture). I think that if you’d have a bit more “loneliness” in the picture or given us a picture, where you’re fighting something to survive, it would’ve been a better shot :3" Score: 1

Judge C: "I like your attire, but the lighting from the sun minion is far too bright, also the angle is very strange and the background is much too open and wide for a strange "close-up" shot that doesn't fit with it. Also the center worm that is distracting, anyhow I think this shot could've been pulled off better but it's not a complete trainwreck so I won't give it a 0." Score: 1

Judge D: " I like the depth you achieve in this shot. It gives a sense of the true vastness of the desert. Your outfit works but I would have liked to see your face vs another ¾ shot. Remember, when you lock onto a target you can still use /facecamera to move your head without losing your setup. " Score: 1

Judge A: "Admittedly at first, I didn't quite get it. You didn't look like you were at your wits end, but genuinely, you didn't need to be. You're not only trying to survive in the desert, the desert better learn to survive you! I appreciate the twist on the prompt and the light minion is hitting you at all the right angles. The coeurl in the background really pushes the story too. Let the hunt the begin! " Score: 3

Judge B: "The theme was “Lost in the Desert” and not “Lost in the Jungle”. I know where this is so I shouldn’t be giving out this 0, but since you managed to make this look like you took it in a jungle (especially because of that Coeurl in the background) I feel like it’s well deserved. It’s a good shot (one reason for that is since it’s one of the shots taking during the night) but it doesn’t fit the theme from my point of view." Score: 0

Judge C: "This shot to me shows an in depth understanding of skilled photography. The lighting from the sun minion is spot on, not too bright or too dim. The "scene" that is set with the Couerl stalking you in the background, your attire match a "hunter" that's being hunted to really set it all in place. I understand what people will say when they point out that you're just "posing" in the middle of nowhere, and all I can say about that is that this is a "modelling" contest and that sort of thing is expected (of course not mandatory), at least to me it is anyways and this shot pulls it off without a hitch. As for the setting I'm assuming it's near an Oasis in the desert, and I'm perfectly fine with that but that's only because I'm used to places in FFXI looking the same way. Great work Epsil." Judge D: "I think you took a chance straying from the sandy dunes and opting for an oasis type location. For me it works, although I think you are riding a fine line on the theme. I only say this because even though you may be lost you seem content and right at home. If GQ did a photo shoot in the desert, this is exactly what I’d picture. This of course, isn’t a bad thing. Judge A: "Oh no! Someone get him some water! I really appreciate the effort taken to die for this screenshot, good commitment. I also like that the extra stage lighting in this shot is subtle enough that it looks a bit like moonlight hitting you. It feels a bit weird when your character takes up the entire bottom of the shot, but I appreciate the risk! " Score: 2

Judge B: "Sleeping in the desert when it’s dark outside is pretty dangerous. I like that you took this shot during the night and that you tried to die on a rock (which probably is colder than the sand). Since you can’t use any poses or expressions when you’re dead, I can’t really say much in that matter, but this really looks like you’re having a good time sleeping and no problem with sleeping outdoors~ Good job overall on this shot^^" Score: 2

Judge C: "Fate, wake up! You can't die on us buddy because this shot is alive! You tried to capture a scene and a scene is what was captured. My only gripe is that I feel like the angle could've slightly been adjusted to make you more in the center of this shot. Regardless of that though everything else works here, the background and lighting is well enough to really set the tone, so good work Fate." Score: 2

Judge D: " I am beginning to think you are a true lover of the night, Fate. The background is beautiful with the Moon hovering over the rocky ridges, looking down upon your lifeless body. Great use of lighting once again as well. Would like to have seen this shot in the daylight to give it more of a “desert takes its toll” feel." Score: 2

Judge A: "Well-timed mob shot ftw. The worm is hungry and it's not looking good! I enjoy the bit of humor in the picture. The background isn't very interesting to be honest, but your in-the-moment pose with the mob is well done. " Score: 2

Judge B: "Awwwww, I really like these kind of shots, where a Lalafell is getting chased by a big bad monster or stuff like that. In conjunction with the theme that you had to take the screen for, this leads to a very awesome shot. You trying to run away from that big worm and “maybe” managing to survive. At least we can see that you’re trying to survive. The Expression on your face and the pose used also work really well in this picture and add to the fun and panic(?) factor~ Not to forget the dirt on your face. A really well composed shot overall^^" Score: 3

Judge C: "Unlike in your other shots where I thought you would stick out too much and distract away from the photo, this is exactly the opposite. The reason for this is you and the worm are both centered and because of your frightened pose I feel like a cluttered background would take away from the scene you're creating, so a plain background like what you chose is what I think actually works best here. I wonder what's got you so spooked off camera that you don't notice the giant worm thats about to chow down on some Lalafellen for an afternoon snack. Cool stuff Flare, oh and yea the outfit is awesome too." Score: 3

Judge D: "This shot made me laugh. Not only are you lost but you seriously took a wrong turn running into that Worm. Your expression sells the shot but, I think the worm is stealing your thunder here. His pose and expression are spot on. Next time, don’t hire such a ham as an extra. Good job this round." Score: 2

Jinx Fireboot

Judge A: "This was on the border for me. While I think taking the shot at sunset to complement you and your chocos colors was cool, the shot itself is rather bland and the pose is mostly just an expression. Still, I can appreciate the story of frustration and feeling like you and your choco just bit off more than you can chew being out there. " Score: 1

Judge B: "Did you just start to make your way from the Oasis to a new destination? Are you still on your journey and haven’t been to the Oasis so far? Or are you just lost even though your destination is just in reach? This shot tells so many different stories at the same time and I kind of like it in this case. With how you look at your companion though, I feel like you’re still lost in the desert and are still searching for your destination~ Only shot with a sunset if I’m not mistaken, so that’s nice as well and the background is fine, for how many different stories this picture tells (like I already mentioned~)" Score: 2

Judge C: "While I'm not too excited by this shot, I still thought it outdoes some of the other ones in this round. The thing that I feel needs work is the background, as I feel it's too 'simple' of a background for the scene of a "chocoboy" and his trusty steed. I feel like a more vibrant background could have benefited this pic alot more as well as a tad brighter lighting, but with all that being said, I still somewhat like this and give mild credit where mild credit is due." Score: 2

Judge D: "Something kept drawing me back to this picture and I realized that it had a lot of depth and there are some tiny nuances in your shot that all work together to make it a pretty great picture. The interaction between you and your chocobo is fabulous. You can almost hear the conversation you two would be having. I love your hat along with the lighting, as they work together to bring all the focus to you. " Score: 3

Marik Destiel

Judge A: "Another that was on the border for me. I can see the story of you spotting a mob you need to fight either for food (blegh) or survival, but the mob isn't engaged with you, so it doesn't feel particularly dangerous. The background isn't my favorite either. Still, I like that even though it's off center, my eyes start with you and travel to the mob. Your outfit makes it look like you've adapted to survival too." Score: 2

Judge B: "In the lower left corner, we have Marik Destiel. Usually a really soft guy but in this case with a fierce aura around him, ready to take down his prey. In the upper right corner, we have a Sandworm, not knowing what’s going to happen. The background you’ve chosen is a bit bland, but because you’re trying to survive of that Sandworm, the focus automatically shifts from the background to what’s happening in the front. So probably any background would’ve worked here. For what you’ve tried to accomplish, the class you used with the battle pose works really well. I guess you’re standing behind that brush to try and conceal yourself? That’s the only thing I can’t really make out in this shot, but the message you tried to deliver with it is clear. Good job~" Score: 2

Judge C: "Hmm, well first off I can say that I like your attire, as it works well with a rogue set, but the overall shot doesn't work for me, everything seems too "stiff" and the angle doesn't help it at all. I feel like if there was some more action in this shot then it would've have faired alot better." Score: 1

Judge D: "To me you look as if you are about to ambush the unsuspecting worm. Hopefully to ride him through the dunes and back to civilization. Too bad your knives weren’t maker hooks (Dune reference, sorry). Even though this shot seems to be the moment before you strike I’d have like to have seen you actually engaged with the worm in some way. I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing more of your face but good job overall." Score: 1

Judge A: "At first, I didn't really get this picture at all. I thought the pose was sort of obvious and I didn't understand Garuda or the ice book. But, and maybe I'm reading too much into this, but is Garuda trying to cool you off with a breeze and your ice book like an ice-pack?? Because if so, that's pretty cute. The background ruins are charming too. I think changing the expression would've sold me more on this picture at first glance, though. " Score: 2

Judge B: "Meeh, I’m not really sure if you’re really lost or just trying to find a landmark, to orientate yourself on to move on with your journey. It looks like you’re pretty composed for someone who’s lost his way, which doesn’t really add to this “being lost” feel . Shots of other contestants look more fierce, desperate or exhausting, which is why even though you choose a great background and a good pose, it’s a bit underwhelming in comparison. Still a good job on the picture and keep this work up :3" Score: 1

Judge C: "I honestly don't know what to think about this shot. Garuda sticks out and there's no reason as to why she's summoned. The outfit you're wearing seems alright and the angle at which you're facing works well but, the background I just don't understand and it all seems too basic to give this shot a higher score." Judge D: "I like your outfit and your pose as well as the location of your shot. Had you hidden your book and left your pet off screen this could have been one of the better shots this round. A good rule of thumb to remember, If you aren’t interacting with your pet, minion, or extras in some way nor are they complimenting you, then it’s probably best to leave them out. " Score: 2

Judge A: "Onoes someone get this kitty some water! Nice idea, the background is rather empty but I think that is acceptable given the theme. My critique is that the gear feels a bit mis-mashed. The hat makes me imagine maybe you were on a tour and got lost or something. :3" Score: 2

Judge B: "A different outfit, a different background, and a different camera angle…I think those would have saved this picture immensely." Score: 1

Judge C: "The pose is amusing in this shot. However, there is not much else to appreciate about the picture besides a bunch of yellow and blue space." Score: 1

Judge A: "Wow Eirwen. Just wow. You are rivaling Rhaya as my favorite! This is perfection. Tells a nice story, as well as being a lovely shot. The time of day and lens flair are nice. I like that tyhe sky is almost the same colour as the desert, gives it more of a no way out feel. Your plain gear and dirty make up are nice touches. I love how you captured the dead Yarzon in the shot. Looks like it was a real struggle and you are coming to terms with it, judging by that pose/expression. Well done. " Score: 3

Judge B: "This is one of my favorite shots! This is gorgeous. I love how even the outfit you picked looks dirty. Using the dead spider was genius! Absolutely wonderful." Score: 3

Judge A: "A nice shot, I like the ruins in the background, they are my favorite part of that area. I don't get much of a struggling to survive vibe from this for some reason though. It might be that your gear looks too nice, or that the weather isn't hot/dreary enough. I love that you are off center though." Score: 2

Judge B: " like the background, and the concept a lot! I wouldn’t change anything about this picture except your outfit. It’s very merchant on her way to town with goods to me, which isn’t bad, but I think it would have been better to play up the dying in a desert outfit haha." Score: 2

Judge C: "I’m in love with the scene here. I’m glad you caught an interesting mix of desert terrain in your shot (the hills, rockfaces, trees, ruins). I was really happy to see you captured the desert wind and the gusty, cloudy sky in the picture. Judge A: "I'm not entirely sure what is going on here haha. I'm guessing from the caption you sent it with, that you are seeing a mirage? I don't get the feeling of survival and hardship here so it's not made a big impact on me. Interesting camera angle though, you got a nice amount of desert in there. " Score: 1

Judge B: "I really LOVE the concept, but I think you could have crafted it a bit better. I would have chosen a better background, maybe moved this scene somewhere near water since it’s a mirage. I don’t like that you guys have your weapons showing. Your outfit is fine, but the color is a weird orange, and the pose is very cliché, so I would have done something different." Score: 1

Judge A: "A shot mid collapse? Poor Rhaya! Quite a nice shot, I like the lens flair. I'm a sucker for that. <3 I think if it was a less cloudy day and had some of the ripply super hot weather effect in there it'd nail the heat feel more. Nice pic regardless though." Score: 2

Judge B: "We caught you just as you gave up and fell to your knees, eh? It’s a very nice shot. I don’t like the outfit so much, and I wonder if maybe you could have snapped the photo just a few moments later it would look less like you are praying to the sun god?" Score: 2

Judge C: "The colors are nice and soft in this picture, and I especially like the lighting and shadowing on your character. I like how you look like you’re about to collapse. However, aside from those things, the scenery and background are rather plain and do not interest me at all." Score: 1

I quite like the set up of the amalj'aa to the right, he looks really large and imposing in comparison to yourself. I'm not sure on your gear though, it just makes me feel like you are cosplaying Link. xD Unless that was your intent and I have missed a reference somehow. teehee." Score: 2

Judge B: "Yikes, you are 1 minute away from death! I like the bodies on the ground, I like the background, the hair…I don’t like the outfit, but it works. Maybe something that made you look like you were part of the dead people’s group (matching color maybe?) would have been better." Score: 2

Judge C: "Battling in the desert to survive – I like it, especially with your fallen comrades at your feet. I’m admiring that you took a night-time shot as well. There is something that bugs me, and that is the camera angle of this shot. There is something about the beastman - perhaps the absence of his left arm – that takes away from the dimension and depthness of the shot." Score: 2

Judge D: "This is a nice different approach, while the layout is interesting the framing is not appealing to your position. I want to see more of you, you are the model. When i look at a shot I should not be drawn to anything else over you. You need to compose a scene around yourself and not let you compose it. Remember you are the model we want to see. Judge A: "This is pretty cute! You look like an explorer who is interested in the wildlife. I like the background and your pose/position. My only critique is that it doesn't fit the stranded/survive criteria as such in my opinion. So a lovely shot, just not quite in my opinion what the round was about. We had to give two 1 scores this week so sadly due to the criteria I chose you give you the second 1. It is a pretty picture though. " Score: 1

This shot really does bring a certain nature to you as a character, but I wanted to see a little more struggle to match the theme. Here you look a bit curious but otherwise pretty content with being in the desert. I want to see some STRUUUGLING AND SUFFERING!!! Your shot are very appealing in general though keep at it."
