Bot Crafting... Anyone having these issues?

First off, this does sound a bit fishy, especially since retainer names have been put in place specifically so that people cannot correlate player names, an market presences. second of all, macro crafting is completely within the rules. they gave us the macro system for a reason, and patched it to be more potent later for the same. macro and bot crafting are very different. I macro craft, I do not bot craft.

Honestly, if he does that, just buy up his extra cheap goods and sell them at a higher price. the market decides what items are worth, not a particular person. shards on my server sell at a uniform 150 gil per shard. people occasionally tank one of the shard markets, and it goes down to like 75 gil per. I have a special fund set aside to buy ~6k of those cheap shards, hold onto them for a week or two, then sell them back at 150 per once the market normalizes. its pretty easy.

TL;DR stop complaining about people, and outsmart them instead. unfair business practices can be combatted with smart business ones, and smart practices almost always win.

you do realize that when you craft something, your signature is displayed at the bottom of the item, not the retainers, right? if this guy was botting and CRAFTING something and not gathering, then the bot crafters name would show at the bottom of the potions

that's my bad, wasn't sure if it would on consumables or not.

Honestly, if I were in that situation, I would simply lie and say "I don't have any potions on the market board, but someone bought like 10 stacks from me a few days ago!" boom, impotent botter.

I know I like to make gill in the game but this person sounds like a gill seller to me with his attitude. Sorry to hear about having such *insert insult word here* in your FC. I presumed you kicked him?

Based solely off what the Op said about the player in their FC, there is no reason to kick them. if they do, then its just a play style difference. I'm very similar, although I know how to share. I can play from work, so im online 18 hours a day, either crafting or gathering near constantly. I can practically fund my entire gc on my money, (and I partially do, camping and buying up all the cheap shards on the market board and funneling them into the gc chest). I'm not a bad or toxic player, im merely making the most of my subscription time.

He can just make more. If he has a bot, he can just make more at the expense of time. Maybe he will, maybe he won't. That's a risk you take on if you buy them up.
