Crossbar issues?

I just hit 50 for the first time and so I redid my crossbars.

However, when I use something on my second crossbar, it automatically switches back to my first crossbar.

I wasn't experiencing this before, and I have no idea what could be causing it... Does anyone know what's up?

... Wait, nevermind. It was auto-switching bars when my weapon was unsheathed. Rather than only applying to my non-combat crossbars, it was putting me to crossbar 1 regardless of which one I was on prior to unsheathing.

How crappy.

Yeah, the setting for customizing bars based on sheathed/unsheathed can really screw you up if you're not expecting it. I think you can turn off the auto-switch-bars setting and still have settings for which bars to allow based on sheathed/unsheathed. So you can set it to only switch between 1 & 2 with R1 when your weapon is drawn, but have it not automatically switch to 1 when you draw.

Ya, it's caught me off guard a few times. I have my unsheathed crossbars on 1-4 and my sheathed crossbars are on 5-8. I put my "auto-sheath" preferences on 5, because I've noticed sheathing and unsheathing will automatically put you on which ever bar is active in numerical order. Because of this, I've put the stance command on crossbar #5 so I can switch back quickly in a dungeon.

What I've wondered (and admittedly haven't looked very much in the options menu) is can you turn off the "auto-sheath"? I just want it turned off so I can be "weapon drawn" the entire time. Not a huge inconvenience though.

You can disable the auto hotbar switch when changing stances and you can disable the auto-sheath as well.

If you haven't found it yet, in the Character config go to the Character tab and uncheck "Auto-sheathe weapon when not in battle". I basically turned that off once MNK and PLD got really awesome idle stances =P
