Worth it to start high level crafting now?

With my novus out of the way, I finally have some money to put towards crafting materia to start working towards 2/3/4 star recipes. With 3.0 on the horizon, is it worth the cost of doing it now?

Main reason I ask is because I've been leveling desynth and have a lot of fieldcraft demateria stocked up. I'm debating if I should use that to make ilvl 70 jewelry or if I should sell it, stock up money to spend on crafting gear when 3.0 comes out?

Well if the current trend for armour still applies for 2.5 and 3.0, then you will need the current armour in order to obtain the newest one. I know that there are methods to skip some with the main being going straight from i55 to Supra, missing the Artisan's tool. This is probably easier now with the i70 off-hand tool, but you still need max melds on the other pieces and the Artisan Glasses I -think-. I am a lowly 2/3 star crafter on my DoH so don't know from experience.

I heard that you need to have Supra and your offhand melded to even attempt 4 star.

On my server to do a full upgrade costs around 80million gil, sealant + mastercraft demi's ONLY, doesn't include materia or failed attempts.

So unless you have the money for that, work on getting your 2.3 BiS with artisan so that you can do 100% 2 star and 80%ish 3 star, still goodn money to be made.

I would recommend getting the Artisan's Feet/Legs/Hands.

You have Desynth levelled apparently, so start farming those Mastercraft Demimateria. you'll need all of them.
Keep doing Ixali Dailies for oaknots. As you get the ingredients for Oaknots, pay somebody to craft them into your Artisan's gear. If they NQ it, I would actually encourage you to try and sell it (to some fool) and try again for an HQ.
Also, Start farming the items to get your accessories crafted. Maybe SpiritBind crafting accessories and craft the i55 accessories and meld them. That being said, I think the accessories will be the first to go away on patches. (They are still i55, along with the body piece)

Anyway, if you're like me, you can go Full Artisan, and still HQ 4* Synths. ou don't need the Supra tools, ad skipping them saves you the cost of 3 Mastercraft Demimateria/class.
