Ash Giver NPC (AI Issue)
This AI issue may apply to all "ash giver" NPC's that seek out and follow the Bombard back to Festive Furnaces with the player(s).
Conditions: Players must be already emoting the Bombard.
Result Example: The AI issue with Sterrklin (The Silver Bazaar), the "ash giver" NPC that follows players with the Bombard. If many players are camping the Bombard spawn location, they will already have the Bombard on a head start before Sterrklin even leaves and catches up. When Sterrklin takes off running to the Bombard, he stops, gives an emote hint, he runs, he stops, gives an emote hint and so on while running to the Bombard. This result causes the "ash giver" NPC to also arrive late to the Bombard and players moving it because it was stopping to give hints to no one along the way.
Expected: The "ash giver" NPC must not stop to give hints while running to the Bombard until it is actually near the Bombard.
Update: Checked a few of these "ash giver" NPC's and they all have this issue.

Pfymberk Gets Stuck On Collision
Location: South Shroud, Tranquil Paths (43, 48 - Upper-right corner against wall) - Fabul Server
Screenshot: http://tinypic.com/r/n49uz9/7
Found him stuck against collision. Does not run to catch up with the Bombard and players, nor follows them to the furnace.
I kinda liked the event.
But the sad part is, players started "camping" the end of the objective just to
get "Free" Ash items, even though they didnt do shit to help the other players
that are working hard to get the bomb back to camp.
Several well-known names on my server is acting like lazy-ass idiots.
Just last night one player on Wutai said "Good Work Slaves" (in /say) and just stood there doing nada.
Great job whoever the hell you were. (Ya i forgot your name looser)
I dont know what to suggest, maybe make it "Party" required?
even thou several parties can be participate?

I used to be Noomy...then i took shiva's Hail Storm to my knee...
The biggest problem with the event is the level requirement. I have to leech. I can't kill any of the things that spawn, and in the case of Coerthas, could probably be killed by aggro just being the emote spammer.
Events should not be like this. They should include everyone. It's not fun to have to leech or buy items.
Awww I know how you feel Fawkes but I can tell you this, I finally was able to sneak over to Coerthas and find some upper level folks to help me. Now, I wasn't leeching I felt as I did all I could to help. I couldn't battle but I know if I WAS one of those upper level people playing I wouldn't have cared because at LEAST I emoted or helped to get the bomb back. No one complained and it was better then just waiting at the incinerator(sp) to get it for doing NOTHING you know? I ran the event 4 times till all the people left. I said thank you a bazillion times and emoted /bow to all I could and thanked then in general on my blog. The thing is as far as the levels go, you may not have been able to solo this event but the Green,Blue and Red bombs were all located in lower level or no higher then R10 spots so the only one you would have missed out on is the Solar. Yes it was nuts getting there but I wanted it bad enough so I waited. Who knows, maybe next year, you'll see the lowbie out there and help them. The biggest problem with the event is the level requirement. I have to leech. I noticed this also. Anywhere from one to a group of players would just idle where the "ash giver" ends and get ashes without participating. It should require X amount of emotes done to the Bombard to count participation to some degree or to have way to count participation.I kinda liked the event.

I also noticed the furnaces lacked collision. As in players can walk right through the furnace models and hide inside them. I noticed a few players would hide inside the model until everyone got their ash and left.
Overall I liked the concept of this event though. It was more interactive and encouraged active participation. The emoting part of it did make me smile and laugh here and there with groups.
Things I would fix or add for next year when they do it again...
- Mix up the spawning location of the Bombard for more variety. It's too predictable.
- Mix up the type of mobs that appear to go after the Bombard instead of all Chigoes.
- Require a level of participation from the player with the Bomard.
- Add collision to furnace models so players can't hide inside them to get ash.
- "Ash giver" NPC's do not say anything on their return to catch up with the Bombard. It slows them down.
- The player firework display should be more grand. As in players who light off fireworks should shoot of above the city so that everyone in the city and outside zone can see.
- Allow craftable versions of the basic fireworks (unless they are already).

- Allow players to remain locked onto Bombard so that large groups of players don't have to constantly retarget through players.
- Allow players to disable the event music with a command. /eventmusic on/off
- More firework options.
You know I agree with ALL of this! lol
The event music was cool the first few hours....now... I wanna mute everything. -.-
Yes the ability to target once you "chimed" when getting a response from the Bombard was ...difficult so the ability to lock it would be awesome.
Oh and I forgot from the original start but, I know the instructions said you had to "follow the instructed emotes" but ummm tbh.... all i did was mix it up with /wave, /pose and /rally...maybe a /dance once in a while. I never saw the Gathering NPC actually GIVE instructions at least not throught the WoT it was spouting while 50 people tried to either not die (low Rs like Fawkes), kill the mobs aggroing the bomb or just trying not to run over each other and emote the darn thing back! LOL

I'm glad you brought that up. Last night while helping a friend do the event, everyone had no clue which emote to use on the Bombard. The connection between the "ash giver" NPC and the Bombard feels a little broken. Either the "ash giver" NPC is giving perhaps too vague of suggestions (if they are even correct). We found ourselves just spamming through each emote as well.Oh and I forgot from the original start but, I know the instructions said you had to "follow the instructed emotes" but ummm tbh.... all i did was mix it up with /wave, /pose and /rally...maybe a /dance once in a while.
