Speaking as both a WHM and a WAR, reapplying SS between pulls is incredibly handy, as the SS eats the initial burst of damage that healers are usually compelled to heal ... before we (the tank) even gets an overpower off.
Yeah yeah, good healers will wait, but sometimes that spike hits hard and fast, especially if you get a crit or two. SS helps a ton to mitigate that in the first few seconds of a pull.

And you can always cast SS just before the last mob dies. After dropping Regen in the next encounter, you can recast on dps and it's all good. No downtime with this method.Speaking as both a WHM and a WAR, reapplying SS between pulls is incredibly handy, as the SS eats the initial burst of damage that healers are usually compelled to heal ... before we (the tank) even gets an overpower off.

Devs already said at LV Fanfest that even they are annoyed with having to SS everyone at start of fights and are planning to make SS aoe if you aren't in combat. So requesting one that is aoe in combat would be too similar to changes they are already planning, plus it would step into area that scholars already fill.

Why not just bring back sacred prism as how it worked in 1.0? Basically the next enhancing magic cast would be an aoe. I'm sure that there'd be some spells that it wouldn't apply to, but theres an aoe stoneskin if needed.
Stoneskin II already exists in the game, its on SCH.
