I'm more reading thread titles. And I've been to 2chan. I also played with alot of jp players in ffxi. Alot of them were nice to me because I was nice to them. And you know that without knowing how to read Japanese? My, the marvels of the internets...
A little piece of advice for the ones idealizing the Japanese internet behavioir. Spend a few hours on 2chan.
(mind you, I love Japan, I have quite a few Japanese friends, but I know the Japanese internets enough to know that they have their flaws and quirks. Plenty).
Just by reading thread titles you can tell which are rants and which are dicussions.
Also 99% of our forums are rants, useless debates and crying over stuff.
No one is making detailed calm suggestions on fixes. Offering detailed suggestions on what you guys like and enjoy. Also mixed with over spectulation leading to unneeded disappointment.
Like the quests. Soon the battle fixes and the mid- high lvl content.
Simple put no one here will be happy.
mindless rants out of anger and posting detailed suggestions out of angey are 2 different thing SE don;t want mindless rants they want suggestions. Be angry all you want, at least you have the option to play it where I don;t and I bought the game.
You can't make an inference using direct view counts because you don't know the population of Japanese vs English speaking players viewing the forums! For all you know there are only 7000 English readers on the forums and 10,000 Japanese readers, which would imply the English readers are doing more reading than Japanese readers. The inference I make from this is that although the forum threads topics might be equally silly or inflammatory, Japanese people are more prone to actually reading stuff (like you know, the stickies, existing threads and forum guidelines) and less interested in listening to the beautiful sound of their own opinions.
You'd need to use percentages, but you don't know how many of each language speaker is on the forums to calculate percentages. Thus you can't infer anything...

I am sure that even though they seem to just be discussing the various topics. If you really know the way Japanese people are, they are actually yelling out their frustration, they just do it in less words![]()
Marious of Nemesis, Figaro Server: Lancer 37, THM 27, Conj 23
Considering how kanji works, they might be doing it in many more words than you think
I will always envy the possibility to write long, complex sentences in Japanese, and make them fit the 140 characters on Twitter![]()
