    "Change role" vote feature

I'm sure we're all familiar with how quickly a dungeon run can go stale when a tank or healer insta drops once they see they got dropped into a dungeon they didn't want to do.

With dps queues as crazy as they are right now that can Ruin your night fast, my suggestion is this,

Similar to the vote abandon feature, Vote for "role change" I.e I don't mind switching to whm so we can do this is that cool with you guys?

Majority votes yes, the initiator is allowed to switch to a role currently missing from ur party (mind, vit, whatever it is)

Dps takes all of 5 seconds to replace, there "stale runs" would become nothing more then a minor inconvenience for the majority of us, just a thought, first post , ty

As much as this'd be cool, it was possible and heavily abused in 1.#. The hardcore players would often do this to make dungeon runs easier and it quickly became a point of derision if someone didn't have the right class for the next battle. It's great, but it's been abused before and will only result in abuse again.

I think the idea sounds great myself. To the above, maybe if parties were limited to only one "vote role change" per run, there wouldn't be as much chance for abuse, and people would be more selective of how they used it.

Simpler to just have an option in the party window to fill any roles the group is missing for whatever run you are in. Only lights up if you have the proper weapon in you inventory as well as the needed class leveled to that dungeons minimum, also the job crystal in Sch's case. Once you click it it brings up a list of the weapons you have that match that class/job for you to pick from. If you have the job crystal for your chosen class it would automatically be equipped as well. Once someone switches it grays out the option for the rest of the party unless you are missing two DPS or the like. Would be a pain to set up for SE but I find it best to make it as simple as possible for folks in DF. Or you could just register gear sets beforehand so that the game just equips that instead of a complicated inventory search.

Sorry to ramble, thanks for your time ^^

If they want to do something like this, a cap will have to be placed on the amount of times people within that party can use that option.

    Easy fix to block abuse.

Yeah this does seem like a good idea and would make runs go a lot smoother. I do admit there's opportunity for abuse, but I do think there are workarounds for that.

I think it should only work to get DPS to Healer/Tank roles, to the Class/Job of their choice until select.

Aka no going back once you switch.

What if you have a job available but you had queued as a role you want to level? For example, I have both WHM and PLD available. I queued as BLM because I want to level it, but the tank or the healer drop because screw you normal Qarn, I could replace either role, but would my experience go towards BLM or am I just making my queue as BLM pointless?

I don't disagree with the idea, it's rather good, but that's the key to some people using that kind of feature.

Those hardcore players, now ruining your four person dungeons. Because it's what they do.

...in which people, "hardcore" or otherwise, also didn't kick others from duties in the middle of runs because they didn't have certain jobs. Under 17 min dungeons did, of course, require certain setups and certain level of player skill, but those can't be compared to our current 4 person Duty Finder dungeons in any way.
