WHM or SCH?

I've just returned to the game after one year, and I still only have my scholar set because I use to be a tank back then.. but I prefer healing.

Now when I look in the shout chats, people are all only looking for White Mages for t9/t7 whatever that is.

I'm just looking to play something that'll get me in raid groups.

Your average raid group runs with one of each, so pick whichever you play the best and enjoy.

I would suggest both because you can use the same gear just different weapon, and they work better with the opposite class rather than the same one, so if your FC has only a white mage you should go scholar and visa versa.

As many have said learn to play both. It will be of great help to understand what your healing partners class can and can not do first hand, thus making end game raid healing go that little bit smoother.

I play both, but I prefer SCH. Try both and find which you prefer, and if you can't decide, play both. The nice thing is they share gear so leveling both would never be a waste. I've been seeing a lot of long time WHM's getting into SCH lately, and preferring it.

Whm is reaction based while SCH is all about mitigation. Play around with both to figure out which is right for you. ATM both are needed in end game.

This is a bad white mage meta. Which, sadly, is acceptable for more casual content such as hard mode primals, dungeons and 24-player contents (yes, this could be considered casual).
