[dev1075] Job descriptions (Can I have it?)

First let me say a big thank you to the dev team. All the hard work really is beginning to show.

I know nothing is certain until it's in the game, so I'm not looking for exact details here. But reading over the translation of the Famitsu article, I've been wondering, after the jobs are implemented will I be playing the roll of my choice?

I wanted to play as a tank. Initially, I was going to play as Gladiator, but settled on Marauder since the majority of it's abilities -- including it's Rank 30 guild mark trait -- involve enmity in addition to have a very effective self-healing ability and def+ ability.

Now, though, it seems that Paladin, via Gladiator, will take the tank seat and Marauder will become a DD with whichever job it gets.

I realize the dev team can't be specific on abilities and certain mechanics. But at this point could they at least tell us which classes become which jobs and their intended rolls in a party?

It'd be nice to be able to plan ahead and not have done any useless ranking. While Paladin seems to be a go-to example, there's still a lot of mystery out there. Will Archer really become a support class -- i.e. Bard? Will Conjuror get White Mage or Black Mage? Since Conjuror has both the healing and nuking skills, and Gladiator is the only current class with a sword, what job can Thamaturge get since Red Mage seems to not be a fit?

If they make Archer go as Bard I'm gonna quit =P I mean... my bet is the musketeer job for archer.. but Bard? There needs to be at least a bit correlation about the advancing jobs. But on the other hand.. that's SE.. they can pull that out I guess xD

also i dont think archer would be bard, i think for jobs they will have you use the same style weapons to some extent

Hmm I'm not sure if those classes are getting bound to their weapon type so drastically. They could technically invent a large variety of weapon types just for the "Swords". Scimitars, Katana's, Great Katana's, Broadswoards, Falchion's, Shortswords, just to name a few. These can wield different classes. THM and CON can both use 1-handed and 2-handed weapons which are somewhat identical.
Ah well I'm confused about the whole system anyway. I just hope SE is not going to do a every class can just equip some affinty+ trait to fully use every skill with full effect.
That would mean there won't be much versaitlity anymore. Yoshiiiiiii where's your lettttttteeeerrrrrr we want some clarifications =D

the way i think of it as think of yourself as an adventurer ad youve mastered you bow, now there is a group of bow assassins who want to hire you(job)to be party of there group and you get missions from them. This group of bandits thinks a bow is cumbersome so they use crossbows. Thats how i think it should work, but i have no clue.

also keep in mind that auto attack is slow, and they said that when they come out with combo attacks it will speed things up. that may play a role in the jobs somewhere.
