also i dont think archer would be bard, i think for jobs they will have you use the same style weapons to some extentFirst let me say a big thank you to the dev team. All the hard work really is beginning to show.
I know nothing is certain until it's in the game, so I'm not looking for exact details here. But reading over the translation of the Famitsu article, I've been wondering, after the jobs are implemented will I be playing the roll of my choice?
I wanted to play as a tank. Initially, I was going to play as Gladiator, but settled on Marauder since the majority of it's abilities -- including it's Rank 30 guild mark trait -- involve enmity in addition to have a very effective self-healing ability and def+ ability.
Now, though, it seems that Paladin, via Gladiator, will take the tank seat and Marauder will become a DD with whichever job it gets.
I realize the dev team can't be specific on abilities and certain mechanics. But at this point could they at least tell us which classes become which jobs and their intended rolls in a party?
It'd be nice to be able to plan ahead and not have done any useless ranking. While Paladin seems to be a go-to example, there's still a lot of mystery out there. Will Archer really become a support class -- i.e. Bard? Will Conjuror get White Mage or Black Mage? Since Conjuror has both the healing and nuking skills, and Gladiator is the only current class with a sword, what job can Thamaturge get since Red Mage seems to not be a fit?
