Well that's disheartening, I guess that means materia prices are going to climb even more haha

Nah that's all supply/demand. It's only going to delay them getting into end game content slightly. I don't actually expect to see many price changes because its not going to affect the spiritbond people so much. If anything, it may mean a little more low materia on the market which should drop prices, not raise them.
