and the damage still is insanely different.

Now, I'm not saying it's a bad class/job. It's just that it feels strange to me. As many are saying, I'll have to level it up to 50 first. I think that's the best way to come to reasonable conclusions.

That's not going to change at 50.. DRG will be hitting 1600 crit Full Thrusts, and you might see a 500-600 crit Misery's End on Bard. There will be a big discrepancy always, due to higher Weapon Damage and attack potency of DRG attacks compared to Bard. It's not a bad thing, at the end of an encounter bard still does respectable damage, they just have different roles - DRG is there to wreck things first and foremost, BRD is there to Foe's or Mage's or Paeon or silence or kite adds or anything else (a lot of which isn't necessarily prevalent at low levels), and pew pew at the same time..

Even though bard has lower dps compares to other damage dealers, but you can always count on its consistency. Just keep the DOTs up at all time and play the right songs at the right time, you will do just fine.
