I'm having trouble finding gyshal greens, the stuff chocobos like having.

Where do I need to look, for something like this?

You can buy them from the shop vendor in Bentbranch Meadows, The Black Shroud.

you can also buy them from the 3 main cities, the vendor should be around the main aetheryte

There are a number of npcs who sell the racial starting gear and glamour prisms by the aetheryte in each of the starting towns. They also sell gysahl greens and a number of collectible minions. For specifics, they are:
Bango Zango (Limsa), Maisenta (Gridania), Roarich (Ul'dah).

The NPC in Bentbranch meadows was removed or simply part of a quest. I haven't been able to find it again.

I haven't had to buy any Gysahl Greens for awhile, as I stocked on 99 the last time I made a purchase from that merchant.
