On one hand, T6/T7/T8 are facerolls now. On the other, Savage T6/T7/T8 still exist. However, the leap from one to the other is now even larger than before.
At least they didn't change T9.

Damage dealt by the attack Sharp Sting used by dark matter hornets has been reduced.
Dark matter hornets will no longer continue to spawn after phase transitions, even when players are afflicted by the Honey-glazed status effect.
But seriously, "mechanic" damage reduction is not destroying the actual mechanic. Just because you don't get one shot anymore doesn't mean you should ignore it entirely. The biggest issue i have with this patch is nothing for the DRG's. Guess its back to my corner till 2.45.
seems to me like they're just making them easier to aid in itemization for the FCOB.
Which is PRECISELY what I said about hunts before 2.4 and was pretty much proven right when 2.4 rolled around and only the S ranks were updated with poetics drops.
Until they add the next 24 man, the only real options for gearing up new or returning players for FCOB, which requires not just an iLevel minimum, but the right combination of items, is SCOB, Soldiery, Crafting, and Poetics.
Poetics is the ideal, but it's slow, with about half to three quarters of an item gained per week, while crafting is ludicrously expensive (an ideally melded HQ piece costing somewhere in the neighborhood of 7 million gil, and that's if you're VERY luck with melds). Soldiery is the fastest way but not all the stats are ideal, which leads SCOB.
In short, in order to facilitate people actually being able to ATTEMPT t9 and FCOB, they made SCOB easier.
Why is anyone surprised? They've done this before, but with BCOB there wasn't as much TO make easier since it was basically a couple DPS checks and an add fest before twintania. Who people still complain about being too hard.
@aerolol War and pld can survive if War pops vengence and pld pops sentienl or combo with rampart and bulwark. i do all the time in my static when we was clearing T6-9 weekly. my static laugh at me when i get hit by blighted
The other changes to the fights are, in my opinion, okay in a sense. I'm glad they didn't touch T9 at all because my group is still working on the divebomb phase and for that sweet kill! The echo is definitely going to be helpful in our efforts to clear it. However, both sides shouldn't be assuming much until we can try out the adjusted fights ourselves. Who knows? Maybe the adjustments weren't too severe because in the developers point of view, "damage has been reduced" could just mean that they only took off a thousand points of damage from the actual skill which can still kill people. So it's a little too early to be celebrating or dreading.
They didn't seem to have touched Melusine's damage and venomous tail and her adds and their damage, as well as Rafflesia's briars, spits, slugs, honeys, vines, and rotten stench. Shriek by the looks of it seems to be hard to recover from because if you petrify the whole team, the boss gets a damage stack (which they don't seem to have adjusted) and you also don't have anyone healing for 10 seconds which could potentially be quite deadly if people weren't paying attention. The changes to T8 are very much welcome and are great for those who aren't able to meet those dps checks.
I welcome these changes, but it will not help a lot of people get through the skill checks in FCoB which is pretty high.
Though, this is the only thing I'm extremely sad about. The attack power and evasion of Renauld has been reduced.![]()

If you can ignore it, why try to learn the mechanic? Why not keep DPSing during Blighted and get a quick Cure3 if it won't instagib you? I think the t7 nerf is fine as you still get halted by messing up (not exactly as punishing as killing you, but still teaches you You Shouldn't Do That), but man... I didn't think T6 could be more faceroll than before...
Why are they adding even more restrictions to leveling and unlocking the 'fun' ?
Before:
Players must reach level 30 with the job’s associated class.
After:
Players must reach level 30 with the job’s associated class, and have completed the main scenario quest "Sylph-management."

Anyway, it's a lvl 20 quest in the main story, pretty much right after Ifrit.
Probably just another unsuccessful attempt to stop RMT botting, besides the quest required is right after Ifrit at level 20 which you'll want to have done anyway long before you're close to unlocking your job since you need to continue doing the main story quests to unlock several dungeons during those levels such as Toto-Rak, Haukke Manor and Brayflox.
