    Nearly everyone celebrates some sort of winter holiday, be it Hanukkah, Christmas, or a solstice event. Why no winter season festival?

    Actually, there is one in FFXIV, it's called The Starlight Celebration - usually it begins about a week or two before Christmas and ends just before the new year, which has it's own special event called 'Heavensturn'. But yeah, Eorzea definitely celebrates it's own version of Christmas/winter festival.
