Forum Posts per day limit needs to go!

I made a total of 9 posts yesterday and then could not post again. Most of these posts were questions for the upcoming live letter and then a few regarding yesterday's lag spikes.

But why on earth are we only able to post 9 times!? I feel like this is detrimental to the purpose of the forums. Especially when someone is asking a question and I cant give them the answer because I've hit my limit.

Also, I have more questions I'd like to post for the live letter, but the general rules say "One question per post" (or atleast they used to) and so I could only post 2 or 3 before hitting my limit yesterday.
(And now Ive just lost another post because I had to make this post about posting limits...oh the irony! :P )

It's a bit higher when you're level 50, but it still sucks.

I had my forum avatar set to my lvl 47 Lalafell because I thought she was cute and wanted to use her as my Avatar, but my main character is 50 in a lot of jobs, WHY IN THE NAME OF NOPHICA DOES LEVEL MATTER on the forums!?
The irony is I just tried to post this message as my lalafell 47, and could not thanks to the limit... Had to change my Avatar to my level 50 character just to be able to post this reply.... Really SE!?

So what's the forum post limit for a level 50?

I just checked my current posts for the day, and minus this message you are reading right now, it should also be noted that I had only made 2 posts today as the lvl 47 lalafell Avatar..... 2... really!?

Yeahhh the 9 post limit per day is really restrictive. It curbs a lot of the discussion that could take place. :|

Blame the trolls on the Beta forum in 2013 - it was their nonsense and spamming which spooked SE into introducing these restrictions (the forum never had these restrictions back in 1.0 - they were only added upon ARR's launch). And when you think about it, at least having these restrictions ensure the forum isn't clogged with a million whine threads about <insert current minor gameplay issue which players blow out of proportion here>. It at least ensures players have to think about what they're going to say in order to not waste their current posting quota for that day, usually.

I have to disagree and say that the daily limit and 1000 character limit per post are fine. As the community reps and SGM mentioned on the Fanfest stream, they would like it if we would keep what we want to say quick and to the point. Posters seem to want to write large verbose essays for something simple. The less fluff the reps have to dig through, the better.

If there HAS to be a character limit, why not double it to 2000? Does anyone know how annoying it is when I want to say something, only to sigh in frustration and having to cut out parts of my post because my post was 45 characters above the limit?

I usually tend to keep my posts short and concise and rarely go over the 1000 character limit unless I'm attempting to quote another person (which also counts the quoted text among the 1000 limit.) But the less than 9 posts per day for people under level 50 is a bit unfair. Especially considering newer players often have questions, and with the 1000 char limit it makes it difficult for them to ask those questions and then respond in kind, when someone tries to discuss or give them answers.
I shudder to think what society would be like if everyone had to state their business in 50 words or less and was only allowed to speak 10 times in a single day...

We sort of live in that world now (minus post limits). Twitter.

You do know you can write up a response that is over 1000 characters, cut all but the first sentence out of it, post that first sentence, and then paste the rest of it back in via an edit, right?

I don't know what the upper limit of the post count is after edits, but it is certainly more than 1000 characters.
