Characters who name change should have a link back to their previous name(s).

I'm a bit worried people will be doing many, many stupid things and simply walking away under a new name. Given that Fantasia is a thing, and now name changes as well. It's become all too easy to disappear and continue about your day as if nothing happened.

Stop the problems before they really start--add some sort of prevention so that people aren't able to do whatever they want with no repercussions from their community/mates and simply walk away should the heat get too hot.

Name changes are great, we've wanted them for a long time and they're finally here, but more is needed to make sure they aren't taken advantage of.

Name change also doesn't bypass blacklists, i.e. if you blacklist someone and they name change, they will remain on your blacklist and you will be able to see their new name. Same for friend lists.

I would like a "name history" of sort just so I know who is who. Some people in my friends list changed names and I have no clue who they were now

Any friend/blacklist stores by player id not name, so if they change name the list is automatically updated with the new name. There is no way you can undermine this short of the character being deleted entirely.

Honestly, I see no purpose in further restrictions. What can they do that is so bad, that causes an outrage among the community? It is not the comunity place to reprimand anyhow. There is no heat to add. Trying to take things into your own hands will only end in you suffering the same repercussion or worse. That my friend, is why we have in game reporting.

That simply implies they are happy to pay a 10$ fee each time. Don't think it is a productive way of trolling.

Then as reported before, they don't walk away any list. Friends or foes.

Even a server transfer doesn't do it btw, they will just have the (deleted) entry in any list change to their new name when they transfer back. You literally have to delete your character and start again from level 1 on a new character to undermine the list.

I have to say the following:

Add a name history, but only for those who are in your friend list, and only if they allow name history in their options. I for example changed name but it was a minimal stuff so my people still recognised me (Just changed Nekogami Nya to Nekogami Sama, people confused a lot the concept and called her just "nya", it was a bit odd.)

Yet... If I had already problems for remember some people in my friend list (Random invitations you accept, or people for random funny moments...) Now I'm puzzled because I can't remember any of them at all, not even doing an effort, then I came to the conclusion that it is because they probably changed name, confirmed when one of them told me his past name and if I remembered him.

frankly, those that awnt to mess others up they will find a way no matter how many *blocks* you put into place. Your concern is not necessary, besides, if you pay a bit attention to people, you will very quickly notice that you have already met this or that person. If you dont care though, like myself dont care if I have met or not met yet people, it wont affect you, you still wont care and still wont matter.

Your friends will tell you they changed name or they are not friends and shouldnt be on your *friend list* pretty easy to me. I totally believe this to be useless. You wanted a name change and NOW that it has been allowed you come up with concerns, why not raise those *concerns* before what you wasked for are put into place ?....
