I liked the sphere grid system from X better. It allowed a little more freedom of movement/development. As for names... I dunno if we really need them. I'm against specialist jobs and sub jobs in general. As a GW player I liked to be able to define my class more by skillset than anything else. When I'm a W/mo I can either be a pure warrior, a warrior with heals, a warrior with protection skills, or a warrior with magical holy attacks. Not that I would do a lot of those things, but there's that flexibility. If I were to be given a paladin class, I'd wind up with a tanker, and tanking sucks.

If people want more uniqueness, then we need a more flexible class system and I don't see that happening if you add the old class names for the point of adding old classes to the game.

TBH, both ideas seem really good. However, with regards to the armory system, #2 seems more feasible imo
