A query regarding the expansion licence keys

If it goes where you must buy it 2 times to play on ps4 and pc back and forth I may have to just pass. I cannot afford to buy it twice. 4 Of us in same house play ffxiv and many times because of various pc issues one of us bounces to ps4 and plays. TBH though I do not see them going the ffxi route. If so they would have already done it when the ps4 version and ps3 versions came out. I fully expect them to make us buy the expansion twice. I mean tbh I know I will buy it at least once for ps4 and pc because I need the software. That's 2 licenses. I of course will buy the other 2 for the rest of my players in house. That make 4. But to buy it 8 times just so we can bounce between ps4 / pc is not gonna happen. I will be forced to give up ps4 as my platform if this happens. I'm sure I am not alone in this.

considering they were or are giving out free PS4 license keys to those with PS3s, I would imagine making you buy the game for each platform would be fiscal suicide.
More than likely it will work like the CE goodies and mog station stuff, especially since, unlike a game unlock key, there's no change to where the data is coming or going from since it's still the exact same game. Even if you DON'T have the expansion, traditionally you still end up downloading the damn thing in order to prevent rampant crash bugs and to ease version transitions.

Buying 4 licenses really has nothing to do with the cash shop as it the same way SE ran XI if you played on PC/PS2/360 you had to have a license for each platform so I would assume they would continue that type of setup considering that how it is for the base of XIV.

Well knowing how SE likes to put profits ahead of anything else (like no bot banning = profits...), ima go out on a limb and say prepare for the most expensive way....

I had xi on pc and 360 and only ever needed 1 licence to play both platforms... yes i bought the game twice but only ever used 1 licence. I know that coz i gave my 360 codes away....

They might of changed it for 360 but it was not that way for PC/PS2

Yes it was. I also have unused license keys because I had both PS2 and PC versions.

How many people actually play more then one platform? Being how the internet works now days what would keep people from just buying the PS3/4 Version for the key and then just downloading the PC version off the net?

Oh anyways getting off topic from OP post the keys are linked to your account not your system so two people can't use the same key regardless if data is installed.

We don't want to both use the same key; we know we'll have to buy it once each. But we don't want to both buy a PC and PS4 version.
