I just recently got back from an abandoned run because a tank wouldn't continue. Why? Because apparently we're wiping on mobs because I'm not "keeping up 3 dots" on my ninja who literally just hit 46 earlier in the dungeon (this is happening during the ledge section with the frogs) and only just unlocked Shadow Fang.

He opens with "its okay even this pug ninja sight for everything" in response to the healer dropping off of the ledge. During the last pull I had been using Doton, Katon, and Death Blossom due to there literally being 6 enemies. I had also kept up Mutilate on the main target due to it's fast application and long duration. He then mocks me with "0 dps ninja is op" before ultimately refusing to go any further because we died a total of 2 times.

I'll admit that like anyone else leveling up a Ninja, I'm pretty new to the class. Hell, it's been out for 2 weeks. excluding Doton though, I do believe I only have 2 Dots, aka Damage over time applications. Unless he's talking about Dancing Edge, which doesn't help for large pulls, but it really isn't essential unless it's the boss or if an enemy is using a healing effect. I literally didn't have Shadow Fang in the right place since we were mid-dungeon, so I felt there should be no real reason why it would have to be used this run.

At the end of the argument when I called him out that Ninjas only have 2 actual Dots and that I had only just gotten Shadow Fang, he threw a fit and said that he wouldn't continue until either him or me had been kicked. With queues as long as they are right now with dps, he's literally condemning the group if they kick him, but it would be vote kick abuse if they chose to kick me. Instead they used the Abandon Duty function, which of course went through.

I am not a new player by any means, and I find it funny that after looking at his character sheet that he hasn't gotten his ninja past "equip this weapon." How does he have any authority to tell me how to play my class when he has absolutely no experience in how it plays?

Sounds like the group had more reasons for dying than what you were doing. They couldn't handle 6 enemies? Bad pulling by the tank maybe. Healer dropping off ledge? Bad healer positioning. Should never be on ledge side, but on the wall side. If you can't get out of the frog aoe, or smart enough to be way back to begin with, then at least you get slammed against the wall and not off the ledge.

Seems too many the tanks and healers are willing to vote abandon knowing they can get right back in fast. Who cares how it screws over the dps.

I'm still working on Ninja myself, but I learned (the hard way, in the Morbol guildhest) that Ninjas don't really excel at aoe/mutli-target DPS. Death Blossom is pretty weak, Katon is debatable, and Doton is more useful for the utility/debuff. And that's if/when you can use them.

Sounds to me like he simply wanted to do big pulls and let you handle it, and that's just not gonna fly. Ninjas, like Monks are much better for single target DPS.Take that with a grain of salt, mind you, as it's purely my own assessment, based on my own experience. Don't let it discourage you, fellow shadow warrior. Remember your training, and rush not into battle, especially outnumbered.

-Tank fault he did big pull -> AGAIN <- after party already wiped few times on mobs.
-Tank fault for being trash and not helping (instead from try to Escape from instance , he was must to start think (aka using head finally) how to help party to progress)
-Party fault hit vote abandon ok (actually party members who hitted ok was agreed they bad as tank lol)
-------------> and ppl's ask to made game easier , after can't clear trash dungeons/decide pull limits

Not unlike China's little emperor syndrome, the scarcity of tanks breed snobby, over-entitled tanks.

One should never pull more than one group of trash mobs unless the party has a right mix of dps (read: BLM and BRD) to AoE to their heart's content. And even then only if the healer's cool with it too.

'Wtf healer' is not a valid excuse.

I'm sure when Heavensward reached we will get a lot of amazing DRK tanks. Made me shudder just thinking about it.

Yesterday I met this amazing tank who dressed in full Soldiery gears on Haukke Manor (Was leveling WHM), he doesn't even know how to Flash and Shield bash the maidservant, or navigating the dungeon even!
