    Overlocking and FF14

This game is very unstable with overclock, yeah, you saw it right, the game is unstable, why? My older video card MSI GTX 460 had a factory clock of 760, if you tried to overclock it to even 770 or higher the game would go black screen. This game can't demand much besides stress stability tests(furmark, kombustor, etc). Also it was the only game causing trouble for me. Now I have the amd r9 280, and guess what, the same thing if you overclock it a bit, however the BF4, Crysis 3 and other demanding games have no problem with it, how is this possible, even uniheaven engine runs perfect. I'm not new with overclocking, I know how to monitor temp and other things, however thinking that game that have medium graphics crashes, it is a problem(even with two different brands of gpu's).

Software is only as stable as the hardware (or the drivers communicating to it).

This game is heavy on computers as a whole, but cannot make an overclock unstable: Your overclock would already be unstable.

This game can't demand much besides stress stability tests(furmark, kombustor, etc).
This game is heavier on the entire system then any of the tests or games you have listed: Yes, that includes BF4 which uses far less dynamic objects and shaders.

A stable overclock can operate at 101% load and not crash, it would become slow, but it would not crash.
If it crashes, it ain't stable.

I found it difficult to overclock. The sudden surges in CPU/GPU demand catch the fans by surprise, so I set a steep power/temperature curve.

Mine's been going fine on different levels of OC'ing, R9 290 and a 4670k here both running OC'd, the only crashes I have are the game just randomly getting an "unexpected error -1" or something like that.

Your "older 460" was overclocked out of the box. Only the v2 release of those cards have a reference clock over 700. All of the older design references are 650/675 for the cores.
