I don't remember seeing this in FFXI, but in XI, I think it's one person to a tree. But if it isn't, that's okay. I'm wrong. That's not the point of the post.

Regardless of what I remember about trees in XI, in XIV, it looks like more than one person can harvest from the same tree. If there are two people harvesting the same tree, will this affect your current amount of attempts you can harvest the tree?

A little side story to my inquiry: I was harvesting a tree one night, and this guy jumps in and chops with me. It's cool. I don't care; I assumed it's normal for people to share trees in XIV. After I'm done, I click on Arbor Call and follow it to the next tree. That guy who was chopping with me was already here. So, I just did what he did and proceed to chop with him. He gives me a dirty look (is it /glare or /stare? I don't know), and says, "Go away."

So it's cool for him to chop the tree I'm chopping, but he gets all mad when I chop the same tree with him? I see how it is.
