"Darklight gear belongs to Illuminati!"
When I saw those beautiful Darklight Gloves of Casting on a female Elezen, I fell in love with them and decided that I just had to get them to complement my sorceress look. Little I knew this decision would lead to frustration, pain and crushed dreams.
I've been running Brayflox Longstop Hard for a month before I took a pause from the game. I came back recently and started to do it again. I think I ran it over one hundred times in the spawn of two weeks, now. Add to that number a bunch of Halatali Hard runs.
I have never even seen these gloves drop. Not even once. And it's not the only thing I haven't seen drop, from the big pool of items these dungeons have in their chests. I've dropped the Baby Opo-Opo twice (and never won the roll!), yet the gloves are elusive as ever. Whenever my party opens the first three chests from the first two bosses I'm always excited, just to feel a soul-crushing pain when I see those damned crafting materials drop, or other gear I don't need. I pass on everything. I just want my beloved gloves. Yet the rides never ends.
Patch after patch we get new gorgeous dungeons and yet their loot is often passed, or only good to be desynthesized. Then there are all those crafting mats, which just make people even forget about those treasure chests. We're just going to get more Filtered Water anyway, why bother?
I know this is a rant. I know the RNG has been awful with me. But is it too much to ask for a slightly better system, or incentive to run these dungeons outside of roulettes and glamour-obsession like mine?
They did a great thing with the three new dungeons. By making Myth gear bound to an item which can be converted into the piece you want the item pools are smaller and people can get what they want with more ease. They still have to work for it, but dropping Antique Gloves will grant you the glove you are looking for. Why does it have to be so damn hard to drop Darklight gear, of all things? It's so beautiful, yet so difficult to obtain.
Perhaps it's just me. I just ask for some consideration. I understand that some grind is bound to happen in an MMO, but not everyone has the time to run a dungeon for a single piece of loot to glamour over a hundred of times.
I do, but not everyone does.
Thanks for your attention. Time for another run of Brayflox Hard.
