Stop Limiting Forum Posts to 1000 Characters!

Most days, 1,000 character limit is more than plenty and on those days I do feel like lengthy is required, it only takes a few more seconds to get it posted.

People must be really are running out of things to complain about lately if we are rioting over the 1,000 character limit on a forum.

But why limit to 1,000 when editing overrides it? In fact, this limit comes from some hack (and apparently poorly made one) they have installed on this forum, the default character limit in vBulletin is set to 10,000 and editing cannot override it. If they truly wanted a limit of 1,000, they could have just used the built-in feature.

Unfortunately, to us, it may appear to be so but it may have its purpose elsewhere that we may not know of.

My theory for this is that the beta/ 1.0 forums had extremely heavy traffic due to all of the issues involved being reported and the limit was added there just to help lower the amount they would need to read in a day and now that those are over they just haven't taken the time/effort to remove that.

(Note: I say 1.0 only because i wasn't there and can't be certain that the limit wasn't in effect then too)

The posting limit is known to have been added as a response to the highly toxic forum community during the beta, just to minimize the damage an individual can do, but as we can see, it is not really that bad anymore and can be removed. 1.0's playerbase was more decent (the obnoxious, loud imbeciles are not going to pay for a game with so many flaws) and by the time the forums were launched, there weren't that many players remaining for traffic to be an issue.

Most days, its not too bad, but every so often, we still get days where the forum members are sticking knives and anything potentially lethal at each other.

forums were so bad in beta but they could lower the restrictions now lol
