Having played GW2 for a long while and enjoying it thoroughly... I think the only reason their inventory system works is because of the bank... but man did they do the bank right.

You can store every type of crafting material, but only 1 stack of each (Which in most cases is 250)... But the inventory system in that game (the straight inventory) kinda sucks cause its rather expensive to unlock 5 "20" bags, giving you 100 inventory (the default in XI). Its still nice how well hey did the bank system though... which allows it to be accessed in important spots (Crafting areas for one), and allows you to deposit your collectibles (mats) straight from your inventory anywhere.

Though unless something has changed I dont believe you can craft out of your bank? Idk.

All spot on except this one. How many people do you think regret not having all of the Tribes currently? How many people do you think regret having ground the Tribes, but blew all their oak knots on their red line?

Inconveniences? This entire game is a HUGE CONVENIENCE.

Nothing you listed seems to be that bad except for the no tells while in dungeons.

Inventory space cannot currently be expanded because player save files are incredibly large already due to the armoury system (keeping track of 9 classes + 10 jobs, for a total of 19 possible combat classes) and other issues. Expect more inventory space in 3.0 when they upgrade the database servers. All of this has already been discussed by Yoshi P so if you actually did some research instead of immediately go to the forums and complain you would know this.

How dare you insinuate this game isn't a perfect and flawless 10/10 masterpiece! Anyway I agree.

Inventory: game keeps shoving more and more items into the main inventory, arguably to promote the retainer service, although it's not that bad if you manage your two retainers right but it really depends on which classes you're leveling and which content you're doing at the time, and how much you like to collect seasonal consumables I guess. It also eases up when they start making more stuff tradeable for seals or desynthable and more items storeable in the Armoire, but they take their sweet time doing it. The Armoury Chest is a mixed bag, some slots especially the weapons slot are just about full and could really use an expansion, other slots have eased up like the hat slot or the gloves slot especially if you're a crafter and/or have every class at 50. Moving past job specific armor also helped, though at the cost of unique looking equipment for each job and it introduced more recolors. Still the Armoury Chest could use an expansion to at least 30 slots by now and the main inventory to something like 120 slots, wouldn't mind if you had to earn that extra space in game like the Gobbie bag quests either.

Glamour: PS3 memory limitations really. I agree that it should let you grab items from your retainer, since you can already search them anyway so a way to access and link that part of the database is already set.

Housing: just a disaster any way you look at it. I like my small house and the convenience of my own plot and other stuff, and I guess it looks nice enough and the additional cheaper regional port is nice, but all these small conveniences arguably aren't really worth the price tag, especially if you're already in an FC with a house.

Beast Tribe Quests: the stories are definitely worth it, arguably the unique mounts and minions too but having to pay as much as you have to for all of them is silly. The only ones worth doing again right now are the Ixali quests, especially because they were introduced halfway through the 2.3 patch cycle so they had to extend them even longer, and they can go from easy to still easy but annoying depending on which one you get.

Part/Chat system: tells in dungeons should really be a thing. It's also sad that the only instanced multi party content was relegated to catch up content and only one of them is worth doing right now, and will be as obsolete as the first part currently is in the expansion if not well before that.

Deteriorating Raid content: Remember Ultima EX? No reason at all to do it anymore except I guess desynth, which is faster and more efficient to level through other means, hell even when it was introduced it wasn't really a priority because i90 primal accessories were also introduced. Moogle EX? Why farm it now when you can simply buy the i100 neck piece with soldiery and then get an oil from ST to upgrade it to i110, do Second Coil, or just buy the new i120 piece. Leviathan? Just save up for the i100 and then upgrade it, then run Shiva for your other mains or T9 if your group is good enough. Older primals? Only reason to do them is roulette, lights and desynths, and lights are only if you're even bothering with the relic quest. Oh and I guess horses and glamours might be another reason to run older content, so nothing really meaningful progression wise, good old vertical progression. I do kinda like the way they made First Coil, aka just T4, more desirable to run again by adding mats to it, it's an alright idea that could work for other content that's just there.

I'm afraid I don't see the similarity between any of the mechanics of FCOB and anything that had come previously in the game, other than the most superficial aspects. Have you even set foot in it or are you basing your opinion on watching a video of someone else doing it?
