Exactly what I was thinking. And its not only XIV. Seems devs across most MMOs are losing their touch with adding the most basic of common sense features.

Yea, I agree. I'm one of those /pcmd add guys too, though it really sucks having to type out full names in FFXIV lol.

One thing about the current party search function in XIV is there's an awful lot of empty space in that window.

Maybe you should go work for SE, this is some really nice design work and simple interface. The hard part is coding the search algorithms in the background and keeping track of it all on the server ends

I think it would be AMAZING to be able to search for multiple things on many classes at one time. I can see the quick search function used for the avg player who wants to group up for the typical party SP grind (especially after chain bonus is added).
