Ever since 2.4 hit, I have been ambushed by random lag spikes. This week the lag spikes have been more frequent. Has anyone else noticed this?

Probably an influx of people that took advantage of the Steam sale putting some extra stress on the servers.
Yeah, started happening to me on Cactuar about 20-30 minutes ago.
Rebooted my router and computer, no improvement.
Here we go again.. 3 90ks in the last hour.
Missed two high exp fates on my nin now because of this. Please fix.. this has become a nightly thing. (inb4Tuesdayexcuse)
Let me guess, you have FiOS and are on the East Coast?
There is an Alternet hop down in NYC atm. It is affecting certain games, XIV & Destiny for example.
making sense isnt wanted around these parts. everyones internet is perfect except for SE so they should fix it /sarcasm
It's definitely not coincidence that my 5/8 members of my raid group is having lag spikes. And they're from East, Central, and West Coast.
Well atleast the sale convinced my friend to buy a copy.

Well ive had random spikes as well on the west coast, and at the same time noticed a hell of a lot more green sprouts near names in the past couple days. Limsa in Brynhildr was littered with them last night, hell our server even had a log-in queue for a short time (which never happens).
It's not your fault, nor is it SE's fault. The blame lies with companies such as TATA, Level3, etc. Basically your connection is being severely bottle-necked at peak times by these companies, your ISP routes your connection through them to make it to Montreal.
From what I understand (somebody else can explain more, this isn't my profession), the reason the problem is more prevalent right after updates is due to the fact that every time the servers are rebooted, their connection is reset and usually re-pathed. More often then not this settles out as time goes on and the problem subsides for most people...until the next patch.
