Tonberry Lag Spikes since last patch

Hi,
I was hoping for the random lag spikes to fix themselves but they haven't for about a week now (whenever the hotfix patch came out after 2.4). A few friends and myself are experiencing random lag spikes where people stop moving for a few seconds (1-10 secs), start moving for a little, then it happens again.

It's been happening in both open world and instances.

I know that it is not my connection (Fiber/NBN) and I have also checked on other games, WoW, RIFT and SWTOR and they have no issue what so ever. So I was just wondering if you could help shed some light on this because it's making the game near impossible to play.

I love the game and have never had any problems before this, but it's really making me not want to play until it's fixed.

I'd just like to post and say I am having the same issues as described by the original poster!

I am an Australian player on Aegis, and play using PS4. Probably since July, the lag was noticeably present during peak hours - but it has gotten worse since then and is now really bad. I have contacted my ISP (Telstra) but they basically told me to contact SE.

If there is anything further I can do to help myself, please let me know! The game is really enjoyable, but I find myself not logging in or playing as much the last month due to this lag.

yeap, im experience very bad lag spikes everyday since 2.4...feels like forcing me to quit the game since im playing ninja now and that only 1 sec spike break my mudra every single time while i killing bosses and making me wait another 20sec for mudra and i cast Jin+Chi+Ten then it become Katon :facepalm:...but when i play other game, it was smooth like milk

Been lagging like all hell since the patch, only on FF, everything else is perfect and lag-free.... Australian player on Tonberry.

I'd also like to add that I've contacted square about this before and been told "no other players are experiencing your problem" via live chat and email, since then they recommended i call my isp, i spent $100 to have telstra check all of my lines and replace the modem, ive tried connecting via 4G too. it's definitely not on my end. Optus 4G and telstra home broadband.

Just had a shiva EX group with people leave due to lag. Ever had to predict icebrand 10 seconds before it even shows her go into sword? It's like gambling.

Yeah, I'm having the same issue, too. Seems to happen every weekday for me (like right now, which is why I'm posting), from about 3pm PST to at least 7pm PST from what I can tell. Sending/Receiving drops to 0 in-game, players and mobs stop moving then quickly flash to a new location as if the data is catching up, and actions like warping/zoning, gardening, or just checking your friend's list take a moment to even occur.

Not sure what the deal is, but it sucks to have to log off the game every day for a certain period of time just to dodge the lag issues. As others have mentioned, I've done everything on my end in attempt to alleviate the issue, but nothing works outside of waiting until later at night to log back on. This blows too because queue times for Duties or PvP seem to increase significantly then as well.

I'm on a high-end PC, 75/75 download/upload speeds, wired connection, anti-virus is taken care of, modem/router rebooted numerous times, plenty of RAM, and a good graphics card. I've submitted a ticket on this issue with SE as well, but was given a generic response to check my side of things (which I've done...). Feel stuck and don't know what to do other than stop playing and cry a bit.


Here's an image of what I typically experience. This was taken after I was killed in a Frontlines match. Notice the receiving "0" in the top right corner. My character took a while to respawn, let alone appear, among other issues during this match. Fun times...

Having the same issue on Tonberry server. Other games are completely fine. The lag started last saturday for me.

I usually have 150-200 ping, now I'm sitting at 360-370.

Edit: Looks like it's fixed? I'm at 140-150ms right now.

i have been suffering the same lag issues, tried wtfast and it works sometimes, i still spike hard. same here im on high end pc and its def not the internet. im running a high end connection. im just hoping if someone can shed some light. i know its one of the hops of the connection thats causing this issue. i just dont know how to. im located in texas. and ever since the patch ive suffered bad making raiding impossible. have never had these problems previously and every other game works just fine

The lag is back, and it's worse than before. 390-400ms right now.

Yeah, it's happening again for me, too. Same time every day. Just tried doing Frontlines again and it was impossible. I was moving around fine, but everyone else was frozen in place for extended periods of time. The game was working perfectly for hours beforehand, but once 3-5pm PST rolled around, things fell apart and lag began. Have to log again to wait until later tonight I guess.

My guess, and this is only a guess, is that the servers are just large enough to accommodate a certain load that makes gaming at off-times flawless. When it becomes a "busy time", things become overloaded and laggy. I would think that upgrading to a larger server would alleviate this issue, but the advantage of doing this to help the players might not outweigh the cost of running the servers at this time. I could be entirely wrong on this, since it's just a guess.

Really hope this is addressed though in the near future. I'd be willing to supply info to SE to help figure it out. It's extremely frustrating to be unable to play because of this.
