simple cosmetic request - matt lipstick pls!

I'd love to have matt lipstick option in the game, since the one we have looks like we put a ton of lipgloss on and it bothers me to no end

Also does anyone know how the light works with the current lispstick? Cause the way it works now in certain areas - espacially indoors in houses - is just plain awful:

Strangely In Ul'dah and Gridania it looked normal - Does the weather changes the looks of the lipstick??

Can't even bond with normal looking lips ;_;

I know it's nothing like OMG WE NEED THIS ASAP as there are far more concerning things that need to be changed but I wonder if this small QoL improvement would cost much of the devs time

Actually: give us matt lipstick AND change how the light works with the current

Since I'm not a native speaker I checked the dictionary before writing and sure enough it said matt - along with other adjectives
edit: Matte seems to be american english while matt is british english so there we have it, we are both right ^^

I would love a gloss slider! I personally don't care for the wet look either, so I almost always go with no lip color at all. It seems to affect the races differently as well. Highlander and Elezen seem to have the super-gloss option selected, miqo'te - not quite as much.

Now that you point that out I remembered choosing lipstick for my au'ra and I could barely see a difference between different colours let alone between 'dark and light'
It seems like even the lip colour is a race thing..geez

Yeah it's a race thing and also changes based on your face choice. Elezen are a good example. One face only gives you the matte option. Another only allows dark tones. And I also recall a Miqo'te face which only lets you have really light/nude tones. It would be great to have all kinds of colours available for every face. On the other hand, having it as it is makes the face options more different from each other. There's two sides to it.

Absolutely! I'd also love color options that weren't all so brown looking, getting a true red lipstick color is impossible, there's deep/bright red for the eye makeup but none for lips. I don't know why some faces come with lipstick already slapped on there.. so weird.

One of the male miqo'te faces has some kind of eyeliner option in face features...why girls got only scars...why...oh and they have better tatoos too!

As a lalafell, I only wish my lipstick was VISIBLE at least. It's almost impossible to see I have lipstick on if the person does not zoom in all the way to my cute little popoto face.

Edit: Looking at my forum avatar, my mouth as a whole is hardly visible. I look like a helmet-wearing, non-peeled popoto with two yellow holes carved in the place of eyes.
