He has a point, though. There's little that can be gained from this interview other than the fact DRK will be slightly influenced by Berserk's protagonist. Granted, the questions asked weren't exactly stellar. Instead of asking what the deal was with DRK having no base class, I would have asked "is DRK an exception to your design philosophy for classes/jobs or a representation of a new direction for classes and jobs come 3.0?". That would have been a harder question to dodge, IMO.

Oh, i totally get that, it wasnt supposed to be this huge tell all interview. It was just a little tidbit but i really like to see this kind of stuff, even if its the same questions just answered/asked a little differently. I understand how PR works, you want to keep your audience wanting more. I still prefer this type of OP rather than another thread "X is going to kill FFXIV!!!11!"

Why? I think it's a good move. Base classes are a joke as it is and should go away for ALL jobs as they serve no purpose. Well, no purpose outside of maybe trolling PvP players as a maurader. I don't even need an explanation from him. Just make base classes go away and repurpose the ones we already have so that there is a reason to take off the soul crystal. Right now I just can't see any legitimate reason in PvE content to NOT come as a job instead of a base class. Perhaps if they were redesigned to fill different roles...

I guess we will just wait and see. At least he's backing off the insistence on every single job having a useless base class.
