    Extend Classes into full Jobs?

    Playing the Rogue quest line, I kind of want to be able to continue being a ROG rather than "graduate" to NIN.

    Similar with ACN, I want to keep the Carbuncles. :x

    Personally I find the "transition" rather abrupt. You spend 30 levels getting to know the lore and what not, then at 30 ... you can't be that "class" anymore, the class story stops and you have to play another "class".

    Sure you can play as a Class ... but good luck playing with others. Classes are too weak IMHO, the extra (nerfed) cross-class skills don't really add much, you are better of running as a Job in just about every scenario.

    Would be nice if Classes can be extended into full Jobs and current Jobs just "branch" off it (/w a Lv 15 sub-class requirement).

    PS: Yupe, my 1st post on the forums and I'm already posting a dangerous topic. -_-;

    Basically every skill the class has is also available to the corresponding job. (Exeption Arcanist pets)

    So what you demand is just a change of names. whats the point?

    Rogue is probably the strongest class so far, ninja loses raging strikes, hawk's eye, mercy stroke, straight shot.

    They don't make up for ninjutsu and the DEX boost from nin, but add in DRK and another melee class or two and the extra cross class skills might come close.

    Except rogue would loose 100% uptime on Fuuton (15% attack speed) and being able to utilize Trick Attacks during encounters. Not sure if that would actually outweigh the cross classes.

    As for OP, I'd rather them to not do this and work on better identifying jobs like PLD/BRD from their classes (GLD/ARC). The way I feel it is right now, the job aspect of it is extremely played and under represented by what skills they are given, and I really feel like I'm playing an archer that just knows how to sing than a bard.

    Right now they're about equal until 45, when ninja gets the good stuff. Add 4-5 more solid cross skills, and the if the inevitable nerf hits ninja and not rogue (based on all the "Nin is OP" posts), then rogue might just be a playable class for single target fights.

    Lore mostly. Quests. (also ACN pets)

    Also when extending Classes to Jobs, they become Jobs, hence should have their own Job-specific abilities.

    The last few days some friends and I have been playing around with our classes in endgame.... Ok, yes there has been some trolling (all of us Flashing mobs in ST) but at the same time we've been looking at how the 10 cross class skills can work for you.

    As a THM, I have been finding the following rather interesting:

    Raging Strikes, Quelling Strikes, Virus, Physick, E4E (these are the standard BLM cross class, no reason not to keep them)
    Internal Release, B4B, Convalescense, Aero, Stoneskin (additions)

    Aero is a nice secondary DoT, usable while moving and for Fireweaving. Convalescense is great mitigation (especially with B4B up). IR and B4B are great when added to RS and can be weaved further on as they have different cool downs.

    From the limited experience I have with it so far, the single target dps is rather impressive and the added mobility is nice.

    Half tempted to make a serious topic about it and see if people would be willing to test the setup and rotation.

    Ya, mixing and matching skills is one of the fun things with Classes - although we don't really have many choices, but more choices than Jobs though, some of the skills just aren't effective without the right stats.
