wow i hear dark knight is coming out but as a tank REALLY . i was looking forward do the heave armor dps class dark knight like in the final fantasy 11 and other final fantasy games all it will be if yall make it a tank is a warr who can use magic or a pally who has 2 handed weapon dark knight takes from his own life to deal heavy blows that is how it got its name if it be come a tank it wont be a dark knight if that happens ill just go back to world of war craft with my friend to where we can play a heavy armor emo dps

Yeah, I am really worried how they make this job work. I am hoping they do not ruin it. They want more players to TANK I think that is why they made it a tank instead of a DpS. It should be great though because if they mess up this job it would be a major set back for the game.

Dark Knight (暗黒騎士, Ankoku Kishi?, lit. Darkness Knight) is a special Job class that appears in several games in the series.

The Dark Knight is characterized by wearing tight, sometimes enclosed black armor and wielding a sword steeped in wicked powers. Their physical stats, with exception of Defense, are usually high, but their other stats depend on the game they appear in. The typical Dark Knight ability is Souleater, also known as Darkness, which allows them to sacrifice their HP to perform stronger attacks.

However, Souleater is not exclusive to the Dark Knight class. Dark Knights may also have abilities based on Blood Equipment that allows them to absorb HP and MP from enemies. The Dark Knight is opposed by the Paladin, holy knights who protect allies and wield sacred powers. Unlike many classes, Dark Knights bear a signature weapon, the Deathbringer, which has a chance to kill certain enemies in a single blow.


so yes if they make dark knight a tank they will destroy the dark knight class

ok but when are they coming out with a heavy armor dps class i personally strongly dislike tanking but i love heavy armor and dark knight role fits in perfect

james i have to agree with you .i looked up the dark knight job and your a 100% right,,and for 1 i love heavy armor class but every time i tank i always get kicked out of dungeon and raids becuse tanking is to hard i cant keep hate but i love heavy armor but i was forced to lvl bard ,why? i only know how to dps ,but yes acording to everying written by final fantasy DARK KNIGHT is exclusively a heavy armor dps class so yes making it a tank class would ontl only be unfair to us who love heavy armor but dont know how to tank it would also take away from the dark knight being a dark knight

well when you put it like that about you not knowing to tank and love heavy armor .i am sorry you are always getting kicked from dungeons and raids ,so you made a very good point and i know tanking is the hardest job in the game i pray final fantasy fixes it for people in you situation and they can by keeping true to the dark knight job dps

thank you.this brings me to my point why is final fantasy forcing its players who want to have a heavy armor spec amd making them tank .
other games have heavy armor dps jobs and people love them ,why take a dps job and continue to force the people to play roles they dont want to just to wear the gear they want

Final Fantasy single player games don't have a dedicated tank so wiki is useless. Summoner's use summoning magic and summon giant God like beings to fight in battle but in this game Summoner's are an Affliction Warlock so all of you complaining about the Dark Knight should just accept that it's a Tank.

I don't see the point of throwing this comment out the door or calling it "wrong" as it can be applied to the current situation about the Dark Knight. When summoner came out in 2.0, people did not like how it would only summons egis instead of the primals themselves. If you look a little way down this very same forum section, there are still comments about how summoners work even after a year of release. Meanwhile, Dark Knight is yet to be released and all people talk about is how it is categorized as "tank".

Also, if DRK was released as DPS, this forum would probably be full once again of complaints about the DPS queue (as what happened with summoner and ninja release).

Don't know how to tank? Tell your party that you can't tank and ask for help from them. OR queue with friends/party finder people/fellow newbies. That's what a bunch of people from my LS did, they made rogues parties or 3-rogue + 1 healer because of the DPS queue and because they were still learning how2rogue.
