Seriously though, thanks for the response. I am less interested in a furniture item or even a technical bulletin board (just used the name for lack of a better name), and more interested in a way to help make FCs interact. While I use the forums and lodestone, not everyone likes to or can easily access these tools while playing. Before being able to use the current in game systems in a convenient way, there needs to be some improvement, which was what my original idea was attempting to provide feedback for.

There are currently no plans to create a furniture item that could serve as a message board; we would like players to use the current Free Company tools to communicate with each other.

On a somewhat separate side-note, we understand that the Free Company activity log can clear out very quickly making it difficult to view ongoing activities and we are looking into adjusting this.

At the moment it is difficult to increase the amount of activities saved in the log that are performed by a Free Company over the current 200 that are displayed, but we will be looking into addressing this with filter settings.

hello. i sincerely hope you will reconsider. i personally just recently lost like 1.5kk in gil due to the inability to communicate with a FC member that is rarely active and not in my friends list. if there were some alternate means to communication, i may have been able to retrieve those earnings. short message are not a good solution. they can't be immediately seen, nor is there any indication outside of the Short Message tab when a player updates their message.

i may not be currently able to make use of such an implementation. but i am sure there are plenty of others that can.


i think at the very least maybe a new icon in the members list for the Free Company window. like 3 different icons should do. one to show a blank Short Message, 1 to show if the player has one set. and 1 to show if that players short message has changed since the last time you viewed it, or since the last time the other player logged in.

It's been a long while since I originally posted this idea and I still think it would be a great benefit to FCs to have in game FC tools to allow for reward and quest/requests. The FCs would of course need to be the ones to supply the rewards members can access and out side of the FC these FC seals would mean nothing.

Maybe as simple as an NPC furnish like item that items could be added to with FC currency prices. Tie it to the FC chest if need be.
