    Selecting a Free Company

    Good morning,

Let me give a quick introduction. I once bought the CE version after seeing the game on Gamescom 2013, but I never played it until yesterday. I picked the Cerberus server as I read some good things about it and I'm slowly getting used to the game.

However there are quite a lot Free Companies advertising and I was wondering if you guys have any tips for selecting one and what things to look out for?

I'm mainly looking for a Free Company that will allow me to play casually, help me when needed, that does stuff together and if possible have housing because that seems pretty cool to me.

Anyone got any advice on what to look for?

The next time you see a recruitment shout just compare the info they're sharing with the list of qualities you're looking for. It's also a good idea to send a friendly /tell to the recruiter and ask questions. Don't forget you can view the free company info too to check their rank, number of members, allegiance and even look at the colour of the company crest!

TLDR; Don't be afraid to jump in. Make friends, ask questions, take chances. And if you do select an FC that isn't the right fit for you, you can always leave and try again. Best of luck in your search.

Well, I'd suggest you talk to the person in charge of recruiting to figure out how are things going in the FC
As FC leader myself, I'd say I wouldn't mind much about people getting in and out, as long as they talk to me and tell me why would they quit.
I've encountered a lot of people who jumped in, made friends, had fun and left after knowing what kind of FC suits their playstyle and their need.
So, like Kata said, don't be afraid, nice people will stay friends even you left for better/more suitable FC.

As others have said it depends on what you want. Do you want a large FC where not necesserily everyone knows each other and a lot can get lost in the noise, a tiny one where they do a lot together but might not have someone around or something in between where you can generally grab a person or two at most times to help out and so on.

Also what is your focus... having fun and progressing on your schedule or focusing on raiding after you hit 50 and so on.

Whatever the case I'll put a shameless plug for Children of Light here: we're fun loving helpfull bunch that isn't shy of trying everything in the game. You can drop an application either at our house or through any of our members with the tag CoL. Or you can /tell me when on.
