Auto-party for Behest and camp rank cap.

I would like it if players were automatically placed into a single party after agreeing to join the Behest. This will keep people from being left out of parties or constantly asking for an invite and no need for someone to be "designated" party leader. Also a camp rank cap, so lower level players can't join high level camp behests. Thank you for reading.

Well I think you should have to not be in a party to sign up for a behest, for the auto-group to work. Otherwise I think it's a great idea, less stupid fighting about who's the leader.

I also agree that there should be caps (both high and low) for a camp. I'd say +/- 5 from the camp rank, so any R30 camps would be R25-35. Any lower or higher than that and you start to see diminishing returns.

I've actually never seen anyone arguing to be the leader. Rather sometimes no one steps up and that's frustrating. I'm all up for auto-partying, at least I think no one signs for behests for solo play. As for caps -3/+7 is what I'd prefer. I've actually seen R17 taking part in Cedarwood behest.

I've seen R10's at Bloodshore. While it can be annoying, it actually has no influence on your SP gains. I was just in that party with the said R10 and I was still getting upwards of 300 SP per kill at R23.

I really like the idea of Behest but it could be a lot more user-friendly. Auto group would be great, I really wish they'd make the whole grouping experience more streamlined everywhere.

Actually there is a little drop in SP when grouping with underleveled people. It's very small though, around 2-3%, if I remember correctly. Pretty much unnoticable unless there are multiple people out of scale. Sorry for off topic comment, but I just had to mention.

Ah no worries, I mean it does have a bit to do with adding caps so it's kind of on topic lol. It may be negligible but it's still there and it wouldn't be a problem if people just went to the appropriate rank camp.

Auto-party for behests at first would seem like a convenience, but I can't recall a single behest that anyone was left out unless they signed up at the very last second.

It's the little things like "thanking" or "curteously bowing" to the group leader that I would miss. Once things become automated pleasantries have a tendancy to vanish.

My own personal experience with the WoW dungeon finder was that it was instant-gratification to run dungeons so quickly, but most players treated each other with disrespect thinking they would never see each other again. While that may be due to the cross-server grouping, I vividly remember back in vanilla spending an hour recruiting for a group which required a 40 minute run to get to the dungeon (if all went well). Those groups would typically stick together for hours and were a great source of friends and potential guild-mates.

Rambling on I apologize, but I my point is that sometimes sacrificing forced player interaction to save a few steps can result in people treating each other worse. Something I read earlier today from a column by Bill Murphy on mmorpg.com applies:
    Open Grouping

Some will disagree that it’s a great addition, and others will point out that it’s not an innovation (Warhammer had it after all). But both of those conceits are neither here nor there, I think because for Rift the feature becomes relied upon so heavily for open world Invasions, and eventually serves as an excellent way for players on the same quest to quickly group together and share objectives without having to spend a lot of time hunting for players. The downside is that it promotes quick joining and quick leaving of groups with no real social interaction. Or even worse, you join a player, start talking to them and helping them on the quest you both share when without a word you’re kicked from the group. Listen buddy, if you wanted to be a loner, that’s fine… just turn off the public group feature so I don’t mistakenly think you’re actually polite and social.

No reason for a group at all really.

Just signing up for Behest should let you get your points and no party or group needs to be formed - automatically or manually. Just signing up is enough. Everyone goes kills stuff and (everyone can heal themselves too... ) so no problem there.

however I am ALL FOR RANK-CAP's for behest by camp.
