Man, seeing those 1.x pics brings back memories! Was a sad day looking up at that big red ball in the sky for the last time.

Just when you thought when you were mining in complete privacy in 1.x.....
Another view of Dalamud out in Thanalan!

Happy Meteor Survivor day
Garleans invading the Limsa area.
Garleans invading the city of Ul'dah.
The White Raven, Van Darnus.
Meteor approaches.
Watching a sleeping sheep in Cortheas. I wonder if they felt hot in all that wool in Cortheas.
Fighting an eft and a bomb.
Riding off into the evening.
A fun little look back. I cannot wait to see what the next chapter will bring.

I can't believe it but looking at those pictures. Makes me cry. I get all chocked up when I reminisce about the past. I really miss 1.0 graphics at times.

While I only played the initial Beta and then the last few months of FFXIV 1.0, this was one of the most moving moments I've experienced. Even though I didn't share the final days of 1.0 with any in particular friends, when I zoned into Mor Dhona and awaited the epic struggle to begin, everyone felt like a friend as we teamed up and got ourselves ready for the decisive battle with the Garleans. We fought through wave upon wave of Garleans and Magiteks, until they reached incredibly high levels. Eventually, my party stopped and we stared at the sky towards Dalamud while reminiscing our time spent in Eorzea until finally the screen darkened and, "The End of an Era," played. The cutscene grasped the feeling of event perfectly and left me thinking, "This is how it must feel in those apocalyptic movies where the remaining people step into the darkness together."
Seeing it all come back together in a new world filled me with a sense of happiness and pride with how dedicated and motivated our Development Team is. Even during the Las Vegas Fanfest when Camate said to Yoshi he should take more time to eat and sleep and Yoshi replied, "No time!" you really have to admire that. I believe Soken, (please forgive me if I'm mistaken), also said something along the lines of how much they have been forgoing in real life in order to bring about a new vision of Eorzea. Thank you all for such a memorable experience and I look forward to the journeys we will all share together in the future.

I wasn't around at the end of 1.x, though I am a legacy player. I just watched some videos of the events leading to End of an Era...I started crying. There wwas a lot of emotions in those, as well as the pics here.
I wish I had been there for it.

Did anyone else get choked up hearing the Answers track from the end of 1.xx playing during the anniversary event in August around the Minstrel in Limsa?
I did and I think at least one of my FC mates did. It was that perfect mix of eery+sad that summed up the end so well... ;.;
