The cycle of disbanding that keep casuals from doing content

OK, so... I saw the stuff about FCoB and was very excited about it...Then I realized I probably won't be able to even see it until the expansion. And maybe not even then.

Why? Because I'm a filthy casual.

Most, if not all of the FCs in my world (Behemoth) only recruit for statics who raid 3x/week or more. I cannot commit myself so many nights, and therefore those are out if the question. Then... there's the PF. Nice addition to the game, huh? well... not so much.

About 95% of the groups appearing on PF are Farm groups, who expect you to know the fight inside out. If you're a noob who didn't even get to clear the fight, you're out. And when, by miracle, someone (or myself) is forming a T6 learning party there, what happens is that the group takes literally *HOURS* to form (my last attempt took almost 3 hours to form the group) between people coming and leaving cuz stuff is taking too long. Then, when we finally get to the boss, some jerkass (almost always one of the tanks) leaves the group spewing things like "you noobs", "fail group" and what-nots. So, we're back on the PF for another half or full hour to find another tank... or giving up after group morale hits rock bottom.

Now the thing is... that's been happening since very little after the launch of patch 2.2!!!! So, if you didn't clear the fights before the first month, you're out of the loop?

So, my question for the community is... Is that it, then? If you can't go into Coil 3 nights or more a week, you're shut out? Nobody understands the meaning of "learning party" anymore, and we're thrown to the side, unable to do the content cuz lack of will? do ALL tanks have it so easily to the point that not a single one is still chasing content? what is happening? Do we have any hope to clear SCoB, or our only choice is to wait for 2.5 and go in there on the DF?

This is a pretty sad reality, if there are no solutions...

Make your own static with people with similar schedules to your own or deal with the drama.

You've summed up my experience of end game content. I gave up on it and started doing other stuff. Its not that I'm not capable of passing Titan Ex or T6, as I'm usualy the last one left alive, but its impossible to get a party if you've not cleared it already.
I wish we were on the same server Alexion so we could team up. I can do either tank heal or dps too x.x

I was able to clear Titan and Ifrit Ex through sheer force of will, queueing on DF time and time again until I got a group commited to take the fight to the end. It took literally my entire sunday to do that, I started queueing at like 12 pm and got it down at 1 am.

But I cannot do that with SCoB, since they still have the limitation that you have to enter with a pre-formed party. Really a bummer.

I'd imagine it would take a group roughly 2 months to down T9 if they were making attempts only once a night (90 minutes) per week. And that's assuming the players some how consistently stay together through that time. It's a fight that will take a decent amount of commitment to complete. That's not really something that would be commonly sought for through PuG's

I'm not even talking about T9, just T6.

That's just about how it will be. Endgame requires a bit of dedication to it. Learning the mechanics, downing the fight after many attempts. If you're slow at learning, or incapable of dedicating the time to learn the ins and outs of the fight... You're pretty much out of luck. The skilled(and those with a lot of time) are rewarded, while those who lack those get left behind.

I am sure people like the OP has already tried many times. A static does NOT just magically show up on demand.

Worse yet you find people selling T6-T9 for 60 mil or so. And still you will be stuck without a static to do T10.

It's not even a matter of skills, I consider myself a decently skilled healer. But a point about the non-survivability of pugs and the virtual-non existance of them except for farm parties.

I mean, if someone joins a LEARNING party, is because said person is interested in LEARNING the fight and it's very clear that this will not be a quick and easy experience. Then why leave after the 3rd wipe calling everyone bad names and branding ppl as useless players?

I only brought up T9 because it's an extreme example but the same thing can apply to T7 to a lesser degree.

T6 has PuG's slide by it every now and then but it will only get you so far. You need like minded players learning the fights relative to yourself to progress and that will most likely never happen without forming a static in one way or another. At least, until these fights get nerfed into the ground from where they are now.
