The game is "playable" now, but it is far from any MMO, including FFXI.
Just a point: There are 7 jobs, the rest are craft/gathering.

Papa was a rolling stone...wherever he laid his barbut was home.

So you're saying we should act like spoiled children and demand we get what we want? They have been making improvements to the game, in some areas what we have now is fine but it could still use some fine-tuning and additions of course. Sure we shouldn't say "Everything is great guys, perfect. Don't change it ever again!" but we can appreciate and enjoy the changes that have been made while letting them know what should still be done.

You played the game for one day... We all thought the game was cool on sep. 22. It wasn't until 5 days later that we started to realize the game was horrible. it still is. There still is A LOT of kinks to iron out, and most of the major complaints have NOT not been resolved. If this were true, we'd be seeing a PS3 release very soon.I played 11 for years, and was excited for 14. And like many people I got it at launch, was disappointed, and moved on quickly. Today, I decided to reinstall and try it out after almost a year, and I was quite impressed. While it still needs a bit more improvement, it is far beyond the mess it was at launch, I believe all of my major complaints have been addressed on some level, and I'm actually having fun now.
They've only just begun to rework the fundamental systems of this game, and they've got their work cut out

This pleases me.
I am trying to get some friends to give XIV another whirl, I hope they share your feelings![]()

I agree, it still has a long road ahead but has progressed a lot. I find myself enjoying it more and more each patch. I been playing off and on since closed beta. Certain things have stopped me from hitting 50 with any given class but, all aside. Keep it going SE!

But what about those with gamepads or strictly keyboard users? The system is fine as it is I feel, you just have to get used to it. I dunno, I've just not had much trouble with it once I understood the quirks. If they can make it easier for all control methods that's fine but otherwise the current is easy to use.

Welcome back returning people! I too stopped playing, only logging in after major updates waiting for the day grouping actually meant something. After 1.18 I have rebuilt my LS and remade my character better in like 2 weeks, where as solo it took me from CE launch to end of Nov to get where I was b4.
Definately tons of fun and I even brought a few friends from XI to XIV!
Keith Dragoon - Ambassador of Artz and Adorable

I did something similar. I had been playing with the same character I made on the CE before 1.18 came out. When 1.18 was released I made a new character just to see what has changed; like you said, it's a lot easier to lvl up now. It's crazy how so many things changed.Welcome back returning people!
