    Suggest: "Green Leaf" icons for new players, not new characters.

    Hey there!

    So I was formulating a response in another topic when it dawned on me that this isn't talked about very often.

    "Green Leaf" players. They can actually be anyone, because all that's needed to get a "Green Leaf" icon is to have a fresh new character. However, for me who likes to help new players out, it can really throw me off when I'm speaking to the alt of a person who has, like, seven classes at 50 on their main and trying to talk to them like I would a new player, which can sound very helpful to a new player, but sound very condescending to a veteran.

    What I propose: Make the coding flag for "Green Leaf" players be account-based rather than character-based.

    That way, I know who's a new player and I can start a dialog to help them out with whatever they need.

    If you still want an icon for "New Characters", maybe make the leaf red or yellow? Something to differentiate new players from new characters of experienced players.

    I've been annoyed with this as well. Would at least like a change to the symbol in user info to STAY rather than revert back to the green sprout every time I zone. ><

    I completely agree with this. I'm hoping to put together a new player support LS on Siren and I'd like to know who actually is new and who isn't.

    Well, this can be done simply by sending a tell (or shouting), "Are you new to the game? New Player Help LS is here for you! /tell if interested." I hope you're not sending blind invites... nobody likes blind invites. ><;

    Never have, never will.

    I just set up the LS and was working on the logistical bits when I realized that I had more to think through (the not knowing who's new).

    There were two events in WoW that I thought were awesome: WRA had a monthly new player thing that included small amounts of crafted gear, potions, and help with quests - I'd probably extend that to the hunting log and quildhests. There also was a recruiting fair for guilds that was meant as an RP event, but also doubled as an honest to goodness recruiting fair. Let players talk to FC people outside of just getting an invite and jumping in. I'm trying to figure out how to organize them or if it's even possible to do so.

    Agreed,

    I have just made an alt on a completely different server from balmung and it's a bit annoying receiving tells (mostly hatefull) every couple of minutes. Not sure we need different colors, but it being account wide would be a nice gesture
