Ive taken to reading books while queueing. Managed to finish the entire first book of harry potter in the time it took me to wait for around 5 dungeons on my rouge. Memories of launch and the 2-3 hours queue times for sastasha, ahhh...
Everyday is great at your Junes~

The melee dps queue will shoter a lot, when all people running NIN just to fill all classes to 50, have reached their goal. Then, hardly they will play NIN or other, and back to their main.
Why I don't play DPS:
- LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG queues
- The in-fighting about "my DPS is bigger than yours, you suck"
- Having my gameplay revolving around mashing the same sequence of buttons over and over
- Having less individual impact on fights
Love my WHM <3
111 minutes?
Pretty fast if you ask me.
Regn, Cure Cure Cure Cure Cure Cure FREECURE Cure II, Regen, Cure Cure Cure Cure Medica cos AoE happened, Cure Cure Cure Cure Cure Cure
Yes, certainly not mashing the same buttons over and over :P
I love playing all Roles. Except BRD, that bores me. Songs usage is interesting but theres no rotation, just DoTs then spam Heavy Shot.
Also, i will call it now, this exact same thread, but saying Tanks queues are broken will pop up as soon as 3.0 and DRKs goes live.
Unless you force people to play the Tank role, you will never have short/instant queues. Too many people simply don't enjoy Tanking Roles, and no amount of rewards or incentives will get people do something they simply dont want to do.
LOL I don't get it - tanking is not all bad, so is healing. In fact tanking grind dungeons are rather super easy, compared to DPS check on most of the new dungeons. I love healing, and just got into tank role. Once you know the dungeons layout and what you must do on each bosses, tanking is THE easiest role of them all. But yeah, for first timer and newbies, DPS probably the role that is easiest to start.
Well, that may be, but you're not rotating those every time like a DPS player do.
I have a saying, "if you play your healer as if he was a DPS, you're doing it wrong". Healers don't have "rotations", simply because our gameplay is reactive. We are given a bunch of tools (weak heals, strong heals, HoTs, emergency heals), and it's up to us to adjust and adapt which skills we'll be using at any given moment.
Sure, tanks (and healers to some degree) would have an advantage over DPS roles in terms of their rewards. But that's what incentives are. If the required role is not made more attractive, then it ceases to draw more players. Sure, people would complain "I don't want to tank, it's not fair that they get this." But that's like complaining "I don't want to buy that cereal, it's not fair that it's on sale and mine isn't!" At some point, SE has to put their foot down and take action on this problem. People will complain about anything they do. If they shied away from implementing improvements out of fear that some players might complain, we would never get any new features.
I mean, people have been complaining about the ridiculous DPS queues since the game came out. I don't see why those complaints can be so easily shrugged off, or prioritized below possible complaints at the solution.
I disagree. Getting a wider variety of players tanking/healing is much better for the long term than trying to hold the attention of a few seasoned, high-level players who already have everything they want. I think most DPS would put up with a less-than-perfect tank who is willing to learn if it meant a shorter DF queue, rather than waiting 60+ minutes for a "hardcore" tank with one finger constantly hovering over the "Vote to Kick" or "Abandon Duty" buttons.I also would expect a LOT of bad healers/tanks just spamming roulettes, which potentially could be WORSE than making people wait.
It would not work at all. There is no way to force anyone to give you a commendation. They are awarded anonymously, after the duty is already over. And you can't give commendations to players you formed a pre-made party with. It's for random DF players only.I can even imagine some poor group that actually cares about who they commendate getting screwed because the idiots would refuse to do anything unless guaranteed the commendations (I doubt that would even work, but some people can be forced when they're desperate, which the DPS can and are getting to.). You know how some tanks or healers think they're the only reason stuff gets done? Imagine the morons getting hold of a similar power.
The higher chances for better loot according to comms may be overdoing it, I don't know. I just sort of tossed that idea in because it would give those tanks who do queue an incentive to cooperate and play nice. But I just think it's time for the commendation system to get a little more robust, in general. Maybe it doesn't need to be connected to the "Adventurer in Need" bonus, and comms can just come with a small boost to tomestones or something else, regardless of role.
