    I don't like queueing as tank/healer in the expert and high level dungeons unless I go with 1-3 friends. The odds of running into someone either 1) terribly geared 2) clueless and just queueing as tank or healer for short queue times or 3) act like absolute jerkwards is pretty high. When I queue the other roulettes, I'll frequently queue as BLM (since the overflow right now is NIN which is a melee class) and just sit and craft or tab out and browse the web while I wait. Maybe if the reward for adventurer in need was better I'd queue more often as tank. If I want to make gil, I can sit and craft all day. Reward me with some tomes (even a small amount) or GC seals and we can talk. :3

    Only way to really fix it would be to allow a party of only 2 to queue up for low level roulette along with the solo players. This fixes the problem instantly, the queues are lowered because so many people will be queuing up with a tank/healer.

    Make friends. My friend leveled his PLD with my NIN. Having friends is great.

    I'm about the same. I have an alt character who I'm leveling as Ninja right now, so I have to get dungeons done for story progress. Even so, after 60-75 minutes, I usually withdraw from the queue and play my main, if not just logout in disgust. I can only entertain myself so long grinding Leves and FATEs without even the use of my Chocobo companion. I don't know how new players are expected to get anything done at all.

    And there's no easy fix either - the addition of ROG/NIN hasn't helped the problem, but that issue has been with the game since the start.
    It's been a problem for the genre, since before FFXIV was even a twinkle in Square Enix's eye. Even in games where basic parties are made of 5 players (1 Tank, 1 Healer, 3 DPS), damage dealers already had a horrible time getting into a dungeon. SE's decision to make "light parties" of 4 that require only 2 damage dealers seems like utter foolishness, to me. Personally, I think they should consider reconfiguring at least pre-50 dungeons so that they require 3 damage dealers. Even that may not be a miracle solution, but it would help a lot.

    Yeah, but they are still just offering company seals. Who wants that? I'm nowhere near "hardcore," and even I have hit my max company seals amount and have nothing I want to buy.

    I would suggest that the "Adventurer in Need" bonus give some sort of "Mystery Box" with a randomized reward in it. You get it at the end of the dungeon, and when you open it you have a chance of receiving any combination of:
    * Gil
    * Company Seals
    * Tomestones
    * Exclusive Minions or Mounts
    * Titles
    * Materia
    * Random Level-Appropriate Gear or Class-Appropriate Food, including exclusive skins

    And any commendations received during that dungeon increases your odds at better rewards. Obviously SE can work out the nitty-gritty details themselves, but anything in addition to just GC seals would probably make queuing more enticing for Tanks/Healers.

    The only thing I can think is after an hr has passed they can get rid of the tank slot and add another dps/healer slot and decrease atk/def of all monsters in the dungeons. Maybe even adding a echo buff.

    I spent an hour and a half queuing up for garuda ex, only to fail multiple times before abandoning duty.

    We need more healers and tanks asap. None of this more dps bs.

    They can add all the tanking classes in the world, but as long as people don't play them, it's not going to make any difference whatsoever. And we all know people aren't going to play them. Square Enix isn't going to fix that. It's been a problem in MMO's for well over 10 years by now. Has always been, never changed and will never change.

    I wasn't aware that was the entire increase. LAME.

    And you hit what my thoughts were, when I said people would call it unfair. I would love a system like your mystery box, but knowing exactly how the playerbase would respond to that addition (I have an entire thread cataloguing additions/changes when people whine something is unfair because they don't want to do it!), I think we'd not only get people saying it's unfair because they don't want to tank or heal, I also would expect a LOT of bad healers/tanks just spamming roulettes, which potentially could be WORSE than making people wait.

    I can even imagine some poor group that actually cares about who they commendate getting screwed because the idiots would refuse to do anything unless guaranteed the commendations (I doubt that would even work, but some people can be forced when they're desperate, which the DPS can and are getting to.). You know how some tanks or healers think they're the only reason stuff gets done? Imagine the morons getting hold of a similar power.

    I don't feel sorry for old players, but I do feel sorry for new players who started as melee DPS.
