Experience Buff not adding up.
I am crafting at our house in the Mist. I am level 40. The FC has the Helping Hand II buff which should give me an extra 10% XP. I also am using crafting food that should give me an extra 3% experience.

So:
10% Helping Hand
3% Food Bonus

I have only been getting 12% bonus XP since I started leveling. I am level 40 now. By the time i get to 50 I will have missed out on 7 million XP from that missing 1%. Thats alot of gil/time wasted.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?!

could be the old "rounding error" of sorts we used to deal with in XI. The percentages weren't actually percentages, but a number divided by another... think it was x/1024 if I remember right. The help text would mention the flat percentage that it actually rounded to, but it wasn't entirely accurate. Like 5% haste would actually be computed as 50/1024, but was actually 4.88%, which rounds up to 5%. Doesn't sound like a whole lot, until you are stacking them and what you thought was 25% was actually falling a hair short of the mark.

Don't know if that is how they are doing their math this time around, but they've been known to do it in the past.

Add up all the experience from levels 1-50. Equals 89,641,068.
X 1 Percent= 896410.68
X 11 Crafters that i want to get to 50 = 9860517.48
So closer to 10million but i did the math in my head the first time, i estimated.

I just tried something. Its the company buff. I took off my food and now im only getting 9% when i should be getting 10%.

So its not a rounding error, because theres no rounding. Its only one buff that says 10%, nothing else added.

Well, if they are doing it as I mentioned earlier, it would actually be 9.765% and 12.695%... which may only show up in your dialogue as 9% and 12% (decimals could be getting dropped to streamline the dialogue). Hard to know for certain without knowing exactly what your base XP would be so you could reverse the math to find the actual percentage.

You won't be loosing all that much xp though. That is, if you are doing it right... as in not sitting there grinding it out for just the base xp per synth plus your food and FC bonus. Leves will shoot you through your levels at an accelerated pace.

Also may want to look into your GC's training manuals as well if you haven't already. Then there's the rested bonus...forget if DoL can take advantage of Armory once you get a craft to 50. Either way, you are missing a lot of potential if you are relying solely on that 10% and 3% to accelerate your leveling.

go do something else for a few days, you'll get more leve allowances.
