    In battle Class switch

I think this will encourage players to level up their alternative classes, looking at some of the new contents, plus the change in old contents, I'd say SE is trying to pump blood in lower level contents anyways, this way not only will the different tier contents be more active, they'll be more fun as well.

Obviously there will be conditions. For example, class and item level will need to be content par or higher (synced), role will need to be the same, if you entered the content as a paladin, you can switch to a warrior or a dark knight, but not a monk or etc.

The dungeons and raids are designed to be playable with pretty much any combination of classes anyways. I think this feature will make them more fun. And I'm sure players will find hilarious ways to play the current contents.

Never played .Hack, so can't make a comment on that, but this idea was inspired by FFX2, Lightning Returns, Devil May Cry. Maybe not IN BATTLE cuz that'll make DPS classes EXTREMELY complicated to play. But more like, big pull, ok switch to AOE savvy DPS. Boss, switch to Single Target savvy DPS. Demon Wall, switch to warrior, killed demon wall? Back to pally kind of thing. And if you can't do it, who the hell cares. Play 1 class for the whole dungeon, play it anyway you like. The idea is hey, I feel like playing this way for this mob, bam switched.

Keep the contents fun and different.

No, they aren't, at times you're required to bring classes that can do specific things (e.g. silence high voltage and earthshock, restore TP and/or MP), whole reason why they added coil nerfs when it became DFable as you can't guarantee certain setups in a DF group.

You could change jobs at any time in 1.0, including in dungeons and the result was people demanding you had a combination of jobs X, Y and Z levelled and geared or you aren't joining. While I agree it would add a bit more variety and allow for more minmaxing but people being assholes demanding specific job combinations is why it was nixed in the first place.

Saying that, I wouldn't be opposed to a "request/vote to job change" you can use a set number of times in dungeons where members can request to change jobs then have the whole party approve or decline the new setup, would help when tanks and/or healers drop when a DPS has the ability to switch.

I understand where you are coming from, truth be told, I've considered this as a potential issue as well. Lets say this feature gets added in the game in the future, I'm sure SE will design the future contents to compliment this feature, and old contents, quoting you: has been nerfed anyways.

And player peer pressuring other players, well aren't they already doing it anyways? I mean you are not welcome to DD grind unless you are a bard/black mage. To pug REX/TEX/GEX/MEX/IEX/LEX/SEX(wow lol)/Coil you need clear experience.

But the flip side of that coin is there's tons of FC/players out there who's way more chilled and helpful, who's more opened to enjoy the game rather than treating it like a chore/job. And like I said, just an optional feature, elites most likely won't bother with it anyways, but people who uses it will probably enjoy it. Its just for fun, not to be an essential mechanic.

I also like this idea very much, if a role ditches, giving a vote option to switch different roles would be great.

I would support this, so long as I am not forced by the playerbase to play classes that I do not enjoy, under threat of never being able to complete any content.

I don't have anything to add to the conversation but...

Sounds like my friend who stood in the sand eruptions in Cutter's Cry and jumped "into" Dragon's Voice (by using the backflip jump thing). He was a dragoon.

    It was funny.
