That could open the return of skillchains if they are going with single member LB.

So? It's just still stat boosting, only now with a situational perk. You already have abilities right now that affect your stats in some way; tanks getting boosted HP/defense, DPS that can boost their damage further, casters that can heal for more HP or have higher spell speed, etc. This transformation idea of yours is just beefing up numbers, which is incredibly boring.
You might think so, but I could say the same to an individual LB that just increases damage/healing/defense. I'd like to see something new, something different like FFVIII Zell LB, or FFX-2 LB spheres. Sure, it all comes down to numbers, but at the very least it could be a unique way not just the same old wham bam thank you ma'am.So? It's just still stat boosting, only now with a situational perk. This would just be a glorified cool down ability. (Like a 2hr from xi). It sounds pretty boring. Here is 15 seconds of echo, go nuts. I like the current system better, yet that still has room for improvement.
I have a few suggestions and idea for this transformation angle:
- Aesthetics: The character takes an ascended form depending on class.
- Black mages will have their 3 elements (and Aero circling them)
- White Mages will have an angelic appearance with glowing angel wings
- Summoners will merge with their egi similar to Shiva's Summoning, however this would be considered "safer" because unlike Shiva you would be using an Egi for the fusion. making it weaker then a primal
- Scholars will summon both faeries and like summoners merge with them, resulting in the character gain asymmetrical gossamer wings
- Paladins will have their armor and weaposn take on a bright glow, unlike other examples it will not have a mist effect surrounding it like say, the Relic Zenith/Animus/Novus
- Warriors will develop a case of lycanthropy taking the traits of bulls to become a minotaur of sorts
- Monks will have lightning go through their bodies, as their fists approaches speeds comparable to Fist of the North Star
- Dragoons will sprout Dragon wings and fly into a berserker rage over the crisis of faith
- Ninjas will be clocked in shadows, giving off an appearing of invisibility that last through out
- Bards: will be covered in musical notes ass their float along.
- Now for the mechanics (or as I'd like to call them, How to break your class in under 60 seconds
)
- BLMs will channel elemental power to conserve magic, allowing spells to be cast for free with the exception of flare. Also any spell will immediately switch to Astral Fire III or Umbral Ice III depending on the spell used (Thunder will also cause astral fire). They would end by summoning a meteor to assault their foes
- WHM will also free casts, but only cure spells are affected. Raises will restored to full help and cures will have a Regin effect that stacks with Regin and Medica II.
- Summoners will be able to deal melee damge in their fused froms as well as boost the egi's skills. Attacks can also inflict DoTs and some egis can use mechanics from the corresponding primal trial.
- Scholar's DoTs will restore HP to them and anyone nearby. Healing will place a longer Galvanize effect on all spells and they themselves cannot be damaged while another teammate has Gavanize. Aetherflow stacks will
- Paladin's will be invincible, but their damage takes nose dive. Their emity intake will also be buffed to the point where mobs will target the paladin until he's dead
- Warrior will get a DPS boost as well as an emity boost. Be careful, their moves will also hurt teammates as well.
- Monks will gain GL stacks with each attack and all attacks have a chance at a DoT and knockback.
- Dragoons will no longer need positional requirements for their attacks and they are immune to ground AoEs. Their attacks will be more akin to that of a panicking beast
- Ninjas will be hidden for the duration of the transformation, enabling them use of of Sneak Attack and Trick Attack. Ninjutsu will have faster cooldowns and will discount a mudra that had already been pressed, as well as allow weaponskills to be used between the mudras and ninjutsu (however mudra's effect will now be 3 seconds)
- Bards songs will not cost TP or MP and they will actually gain an increase in DPS and accuracy while singing
- All the classes will gain a new + bar during the durations will brand new OP skills, that must be proced by certain existing skills

I prefer a personal limit brake system. Because as it stands now you only use a dps limit brake almost exclusively. Ultimately the choice comes down too. Is the boss single target, use melee LB. Is there a time where a lot of adds can be killed with the LB then use the mage LB.
And there should still be the choice on whether you want to use personal LBs or use them collectively with the party. Can open up a lot of possibilities.
I HOPE Yoshi adds UNIQUE Defensive & Offensive Limit breaks for each Job I won't get into these grand ideas in my head but I feel it can and should be done. While relegating the basic LB's to Classes. Heck I wish he gives Chocobo's a Limit break depending on it's spec.
