Man, this flaw has got me irritated too. Even more irritated that my friend CAN move things closer to the walls in the Goblet FC house we have, and the only difference between her and me is that I use a keyboard/mouse setting and she uses a controller...

I had no idea this wasn't a universal thing either.
It would be nice to fix it.

Well excuse me... but this kinda makes me extremely mad! I honestly thought the whole "can't but furniture against the wall" was a thing for all style of houses, now it's come to light it's "just" for The Goblet?! That's kinda BS lol... that's where my house is, I've grown quite fond of The Goblet. I hope this gets addressed soon, should have been addressed sooner if most had been made aware of it earlier, but C'est La Vie.

This is pretty bad and it's probably due to them making the goblet housing first and then after making limsa and grid they didn't go back and fix it.
It should definitely be fixed to make housing equal and i'm actually surprised it's gone this long unpatched.

ATTENTION
Someone put this in the bug section so it might be seen better by a dev.
linked here so we can add our outcry to that thread.

They didn't fill out the bug report properly. Simply copying and pasting my entire post isn't enough to be considered a report. D:ATTENTION

No but at least a dev will see it and move it to the not enough info section. Then we will know for sure that we are being ignored.
Edit: Also I wanted to say thanks for pointing this out, if you hadn't I think most people would have gone on thinking this was an issue with all the houses not just the ones in the Goblet. I know that's what I thought at least.

Well I had noticed it for some time, I just failed to get screenshots of the ordeal as I was always moving from one FC to another trying to find the perfect place to settle and I never had permission to move things around in FC houses to test the theory. No but at least a dev will see it and move it to the not enough info section. Then we will know for sure that we are being ignored.

I finally decided to do something about it when I was saving money to buy a medium house in the Goblet on my main as I'm also an RP'er of Balmung and my main is from the Thanalan region as part of his background story.
I also finally got my Medium house on him and thought maybe I'd be able to situate things better.. But nope.. The stairwells prevent me from even placing a single Riviera Fringed Rug where I want to put it. :\ I'll have to take more screenshots of how the Medium houses in the Goblet are affected by this flaw when I get home from work.
