Perma bans are only handed out to Gil Sellers/Gil Seller affiliates (Their bots, their shouters, etc.). If you read the ban notices SE puts out around every month the amount of people who are banned for what is presumably gil buying (Participation in RMT activities) is not only incredibly tiny, but it's also only a temporary ban.

And lots of people, like myself, came into 2.4 with a good amount of gil on hand for the inevitable outlays.
What this guy said. Also I made a buttload of gil on sealants. Used a few for some offhands then sold the rest. They sell/sold for between 400k-300k each on my server. Once the prices crash or dip below 200k or even maybe before that I'll keep them for my omi-gear set for four star crafting.

I know my friend swiftly made 10mil at the start of 2.4. The early release of crafting information made it easy.

10mil gil isn't worth much in this game any more. There's been massive inflation since launch that is showing no signs of stopping. Things are more expensive now in ARR than they were in 1.0, and gil was divided by 10 during the switchover.

Its funny watching that Demand number get higher and higher and the Items in Demand just stagnate on the boards because people demand far more than the item is worth. Especially as that stuff is virtually vanity.
The sum total of an item's worth isn't just the base material cost. Getting to even three star crafting requires a huge investment of time and/or gil, much less four star. Having the materials doesn't do you much good if all you can do is bang them together. So, people that don't have that level of crafting can either try to farm the materials themselves and find someone willing to put the items together, or they can buy the items.

Basically, the worth of an item is what someone is willing to pay for it.

It's a choice between buying a HOUSE and buying a vanity shirt for ONE job.
Some people are just really into vanity, given that these items actually are selling. *shrugs*

People have a medium or Large House. They CLEARLY must be a gil buyer. Even thought the only proof I have is an ancedote about then having something I could never usually afford

    Yes that was sarcasm

It truly isn't that hard now, especially if you people to help you. You can farm t4 for allagan mats and those sell for 200-300 k gil each and sell really fast in an hr you could have 3 mil worth of mats

I resently found a way to make 400k-1m gil in 2-3 hours. So ya 12m in a weekend would be very easy.

    Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.

Only if they should be getting a commendation.

completely normal, if you can earn more than 2kk/week as which you can, 16kk is not that big deal

I went AFK in May and was back to check my FC during the Free weekend. By the time I left the game I had 52mio Gil (never buy or sell) and the top dog in my server had 160mio. During this weekend I found my old market competator is still top in crafting and selling 4 stars HQ gears for 4mio to 13mio a piece. I won't be suprise to know he's over 300mio now. OP you got to know the world better, lol.
