I am hoping 1.18a started a trend of actual patches that aren't emergency patches actually adding a decent amount of stuff.
Pretty sure it's not for the summer event too :P.

Actually they also state a changelog will be available as soon as the patch hits. A purely event-based patch has no need for a changelog (in my opinion). The lodestone post about the event contains more than enough information, we need no changelog to spoil all surprises of the event.we can always hope. i have a feeling it's activating the summer event. if i'm not mistaken each event was started after a patch so they may be all done server side to activate it so would have to turn off the servers to execute. it's only speculation, but it just sounds right. granted, it may be a few bug fixes as well, but i feel the event is the majority.
I don't think so. The patch is tomorrow on August 10th, the event starts on the 11th. If they needed a patch to activate it they would have to wait until the 11th for that magic patch.we can always hope. i have a feeling it's activating the summer event. if i'm not mistaken each event was started after a patch so they may be all done server side to activate it so would have to turn off the servers to execute. it's only speculation, but it just sounds right. granted, it may be a few bug fixes as well, but i feel the event is the majority.
It's only logical that if they could have it activate on the 11th from tomorrow's patch that they could have it activate on the 11th from the July 27th patch (which had the event data in) and therefor would not need another patch to do so.
[CHANGES]
* One guildleve has been added.

They never make a, b, or c patches for events. They are always in the major versions of the patches before the event begins.
b would be more bug fixes and minor game changes to improve functionality. As someone else joked about, target mode D. That is a more safe assumption than anything... kidding or not.
I second this and the Target mode D theory ^^They never make a, b, or c patches for events. They are always in the major versions of the patches before the event begins.

Good for them if they get fixes for bugs that quickly and even better if they throw goodies like in 1.18a (though no one should expect anything more than bug fixes)
Yeah probably nothing more than some quick fixes, but I think we should keep in mind that there have been two small bug-fixing patches before 1.18a happened, and those weren't lettered at all. So yup, something new like target mode D.
Or full keyboard customization! (or "[dev1126] The Enter key can now be mapped.")![]()

Wonderful another patch that will take hours to download regardless of it's size.

System
*[dev7777]Removed keyboard support
*[dev6666]Removed mouse support
*[dev5555]Fixed resolution at 720p
*[dev4444]Reduced maximum memory usage to 256MB

I will slap(slay) Yoshida silly if i see only bug fixes in a lettered patch lol. But yea, shouldn't really hope for too much, even tho I want to. But looking at how much was in 1.18a, I'm expecting better things from all lettered patches in the future.
