Hey folks! So there's a lot of threads out there in GD. Many are complaint threads, others are suggestion threads, and others still are threads filled with some pretty toxic polarization!

So how about we have a discussion about FFXIV and our favorite stuff from the game? I'll ask a series of questions (which I will also answer myself at a later date) and I invite you folks to write your own answers. You can even write questions to ask the community and I may well add them to the list! Here we go!

Wow, that's a lot of questions, lets see here....

Character Info 1:

What is the name of your primary character? How did you come up with that name?

-Gralna Kelgor, been my MMO main for 14 years. Kelgor was the divine deity of my favorite class in Dark Age of Camelot. Gralna was the name I came up with after a few hours of trying to find a feminine name that sounded strong.

What is the Race/Tribe of your primary character? Why did you pick that?

-Hellsguard Roegadyn, fits with the tough physical persona of past incarnations of her. Chose Hellsguard cause last incarnation was a bestial race and their black tipped nose was on homage to that.

What is the primary class/job of your primary character? Why did you pick that?

-Monk, she's always been a hand to hand fighter. Nothing like beating the most dangerous threats to your world, with your bare fists.

Which Grand Company is your primary character a part of? Why did you pick that?

-Immortal Flames, was her starter city, plus not a big fan of forests or the sea.

What is your primary character's weapon glamour of choice (if applicable)? Why did you pick that?

-Relic, always go for weapon designed to represent the class/job.

What do you think your primary character's signature ability is? Why do you think that?

-Demolish, use toadskin leg guards for glamour and with those massive legs and spiked guards, ouch.

Is your primary character a part of a Free Company? If so, what is it? Why did you join that Free Company?

-The Black Order, it's a small casual Free Company and am good friends with one of the officers.

Where did your primary character come from? How do they feel about where they came from?

-I'll just link her lodestone page, Gralna Kelgor

Does your primary character have any family? Who are they? What is their relationship with your primary character?

-No, she grew up an orphan in the wilds.

What does your primary character look like? Why do they look like they do? What kinds of clothing does your character wear? Why did your primary character pick those clothes?

-6'3" light reddish skin, short black hair with deep red streaks, one eye is golden the other is whited out. Black lips/nose to pay reference to her bestial origins. She likes to wear loose clothes that don't inhibit her motions, and doesn't really have a sense of modesty, only practicality.

What is your primary character's personality? What do they like? What do they dislike? What are they afraid of? What makes them happy? What makes them sad? What makes them angry?

-She's has a rather blunt personality, not one to play social games of subtext, she either thinks you're her friend, don't matter or are her enemy. She likes seeing people work together and help those unable to help themselves, she dislikes corruption and manipulation, she only fears being weak, being able to be around friends without any worries, a friend in distress and nothing she can do, strong oppressing the weak.

Does your primary character have a backstory? Were there any interesting events in their past that led them to become the people they are today?

-Yep, kind of long and would most likely lead to a short novel, short summary. Orphan, doesnt know parents, grew up wandering the wilds, learned of the diety Kelgor and became his champion, was brought to Eorzea.

The World 1 (Geography):

What is your favorite region of Eorzea? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-Coerthas, always like snowy Tundras. East Shroud, hate thick forests.

What is your favorite spot to relax in Eorzea? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-My personal room, built it to suit my tastes. Revenant's Toll, too crowded and noisy.

What is your favorite spot to fight in Eorzea? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-Praetorium, Gralna likes big boom! Aurum Vale, so many aoes and hazards.

What is your favorite spot to shop in Eorzea? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-Market Board outside my FC's house, easy access and quite. Limisa Lominsa Market Boards, super crowded and noisy.

The World 2 (NPCs):

Who is your favorite NPC? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-Use to be Nashu, always loved the imbecile's sidekick. Now though, it is Moenbryda, strong and smart, witty, and able to turn Urianger into a stuttering pile of nerves. Kobold Beast Tribe leader, I've heard of being scared, but this guy makes the cowardly lion look like William Wallace.

Who is your favorite City-State Leader? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-Not really the leader, but Raubahn. Fought his way up from a slave, to be leader of the nations military, he knows how his people suffer and is thus uncorruptable. Kan-e-senna(sp?), she just seems to have no emotion to me, basically like she is just the voice of the elements.

Who is your favorite Scion? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-Moenbryda, as stated earlier. Urianger, while I think his english voice actor is great, Urianger himself isn't really fleshed out enough for me to form a solid opinion of, and thus seems rather dull as a character.

Who is your favorite Primal? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-Garuda, she seems like an evil version of Gralna. Leviathan, his story felt rushed and didn't have much depth to it.

Who is your favorite boss? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-Diabolos, love the arena, the mechanics and opening/closing cinematics. Storymode Halatali, boss is just an Ogre...

Music:

What is your favorite song in FFXIV? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-Answers, gives a real feeling of how desperate the heroes are. Sylphlands music, creepy/happy sound leaves me confused.

What is your favorite battle theme in FFXIV? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-Garuda's, love the strong chords. Titan, while I love the guitar work, the drums and the shouting make it seem too tribal for my tastes.

What is your favorite field/town theme in FFXIV? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-Coerthas, has a sound of regal desolation to it. Sylphlands, as stated above.

What is your favorite boss theme in FFXIV? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-Never really listened to any close enough to really tell a difference, plus after a few playthrough I tend to mute music and listend to pandora.

Gameplay:

What graphical settings do you play with? Why is that?

-Pretty much just try to get highest quality I can with optimal framerate, like game to look good.

What sound settings do you play with? Why is that?

-Play with dual monitors, so sometimes if i'm watching a video I'll mute sounds. Otherwise I like to listen to cutscenes in Japanese.

Do you play with a gamepad or with a Keyboard/Mouse? Why is that?

-Gamepad, started playing on PS3 in phase 4 beta, finished updating my tower around February. By then I'd gotten so use to playing with a controller I couldn't play on keyboard/mouse.

The Future:

What Class/Job would you most like to see in the game? Why?

-Was looking forward to Dark Knight as dps, with that shot down, not really looking for any particular since monk will always be my main.

What region would you like to visit most in the world? Why?

-I'd like to visit a volcanic wasteland, those always give me the feeling of being in a truly evil place.

If another Final Fantasy-inspired dungeon or raid were to come out, what would it be inspired by? Why would you pick that?

-I'd like for the Via Infinito from X-2. A near endless duty with random arrangements and enemies in each floor, but gets harder and harder the more rooms you clear. Always enjoyed those kinds of challenges, from the Via Infinito itself, to the Hell Tower in Onimusha 2.

What item or set of items would like most like to see in the game? Why?

-Not really that many iconic sets in FF universe I'd like personally, maybe Fang's gear? Already love glamours I'm currently using.

Character Info 1:

What is the name of your primary character? How did you come up with that name?
-Shikiseki Ibaraki- I wanted to combine Shiki (seasons) with Kiseki (miracle) into one word, which gives another meaning when combined (Miracle Poem). Ibaraki is just a name from japanese folklore. Thus the rose motif of my signature. It was mostly random though at the start.

What is the Race/Tribe of your primary character? Why did you pick that?

-Hyuran Midlander. That might be a boring choice but - since I'm quite the balanced / all-rounder, it just fits me perfectly.

What is the primary class/job of your primary character? Why did you pick that?

-I picked Arcanist. I'm usually going for the odd, versatile class in games - usually rarely played. I didn't know Arcanist would be played that much in this game. It also looked like a somewhat hybrid-ish class, so I picked that.

Which Grand Company is your primary character a part of? Why did you pick that?

-Maelstrom - this was influenced by my starting city, being Limsa Lominsa. Still, after their speeches, and being freedom loving myself, I couldn't help but to choose Maelstrom. Plus - red's awesome.

What is your primary character's weapon glamour of choice (if applicable)? Why did you pick that?

- I don't have any specific weapon I do use other than my relic.

What do you think your primary character's signature ability is? Why do you think that?

- Yell
j/k - I'd say Ressurection is one of my most memorable abilities in our raids so far... the countless wipes that prevented it's insane...
as for non-battle skill - I'll be his swift adaptability and quick strategy shifting mind midbattle.

Is your primary character a part of a Free Company? If so, what is it? Why did you join that Free Company?

-Solace - I literally started my adventure with it, I was there from the very beginning - defined the very core of this group which I'm pretty happy with ^^

Character Info 2 (RP):

Where did your primary character come from? How do they feel about where they came from?

-He's just a normal adventurer at the start. I haven't thought about that much to be honest but - he's a Warrior of Light of course.[/URL]

Does your primary character have any family? Who are they? What is their relationship with your primary character?

-There's no confirmed family to this date.

What does your primary character look like? Why do they look like they do? What kinds of clothing does your character wear? Why did your primary character pick those clothes?

- light blond/platinum hair with similar eyecolor. Average build and height. Usually dressed in seasonal or city-wear in towns like the suit. The battle classes mostly are Maelstrom themed or something that matches the job the most.

What is your primary character's personality? What do they like? What do they dislike? What are they afraid of? What makes them happy? What makes them sad? What makes them angry?

- His personality is heavily influenced by my base principles and morale as well as the job his currently in. So as a Scholar, he immediately picks up the role as brilliant yet somewhat calculating Strategic while he's turning into a short-fused beast as Warrior. On his SMN main, he retains the cheeky attitude, paired with my natural aloofness - sometimes rude (but hey) - but despite all that - usually laid-back most of the time. Always looking at the bigger picture, impaired with high sense of objectivity and intuition, he may seem to be cold and inhuman sometimes, yet passionate when general injustice is around him.
Generally likes peaceful and free environments. Although rarely sad, he's not really fond of people complaining and taking things TOO serious - drives him nuts.
That said, he may sound complicated but at the end of the day, he'll still be the easy going guy you can always count on!

Does your primary character have a backstory? Were there any interesting events in their past that led them to become the people they are today?

- I'm afraid I haven't thought about that. Maybe I'll think of something fitting and you'll be the first to know ^^

The World 1 (Geography):

What is your favorite region of Eorzea? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-I really like Limsa Lominsa, it's still one of the few spots always filled with life. My least favourite spot might be most of the Shroud areas... I can't stand most of it.

What is your favorite spot to relax in Eorzea? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

- Housing area - Mist - enough said. Revenant's Toll is actually one of my least favourite spots - I'm just not feeling it.

What is your favorite spot to fight in Eorzea? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-I really like Pharos Sirius, especially at the top. I could live without Toto-rak...

What is your favorite spot to shop in Eorzea? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-Limsa Lominsa again or the Mist housing area - the least favorite (ironically) is Ul'dah - it's so inconvenient despite being the city of commerce.

The World 2 (NPCs):

Who is your favorite NPC? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

- I really like Jacke's gang a lot. Least favourite would be that arrogant Eleezen (xP)

Who is your favorite City-State Leader? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-I don't really have a most/least favorite leader. Maybe the Sultana because she's cute

Who is your favorite Scion? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-Y'shtola - I met her first and she retained her badass yet calm attitude. Least Favorite... Urianger - I just can't warm up to him.

Who is your favorite Primal? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-Shiva battle + her story was the best so far imo. Least Favorite? I'd say King Moogle Mog if it counts because you know... I like Moogles but them are just... oddity

Who is your favorite boss? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-I'd say it's Titan... I dunno while being frustrating to most, it's IMO one of the most memorable encounters through my adventures xD like they sang at the Fanfest - F*ck you TITAN! . Least favorite boss would be Garuda Ex and King Mog - just no!

Music:

What is your favorite song in FFXIV? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

- Too many to tell !

What is your favorite battle theme in FFXIV? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

- (I assume it's the normal battle theme?) they are alright - bit repetitive.

What is your favorite field/town theme in FFXIV? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-I like most of them - all fit to their respective areas perfectly.

What is your favorite boss theme in FFXIV? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

-I'd say Shiva's theme song is really well composed, especially the first part. Titan's theme also wins in this category. Also Fenrir's theme is extremely nice!
Least Favorite would be the midboss theme at the new high level dungeons like Sastasha HM - so repetitive and annoying!.

Gameplay:

What graphical settings do you play with? Why is that?

-High laptop - pretty happy with it.

What sound settings do you play with? Why is that?

-Japanese voice actors - I just like the original feel of it. I usually have music muted to listen to my own but some themes deserve full volume.

Do you play with a gamepad or with a Keyboard/Mouse? Why is that?

-Keyboard - I don't really have a gamepad although I'd like to play on my PS more often to use the gamepad.

The Future:

What Class/Job would you most like to see in the game? Why?

- Dark Knight might be a good class for me. Time Mage would be my all time favorite though - I just like buffing classes so much as well as space-time magic.

What region would you like to visit most in the world? Why?

- The grandiose city of the sages - Sharlayan - I can only imagine being a floating magic paradise full of ether and flair.

If another Final Fantasy-inspired dungeon or raid were to come out, what would it be inspired by? Why would you pick that?

-I'd like to see a raid like the Airship Sin fight from FFX - I can see that being implemented with Bismark, fighting various body parts one by one to somehow defeat the critter! As for dungeon - something like the necrohol of nabudis or the great crystal FFXII would be cool.

What item or set of items would like most like to see in the game? Why?

-There's no particular set I'm waiting for

Cool stuff. I'll answer most of these, I'm going to skip the RP section though. I don't participate so I don't feel like I should create something just for the sake of this survey

Character Info 1

What is the name of your primary character? How did you come up with that name? - Indaki Sativa. I created the name 15 years ago when I started playing D&D for the first time. Origin seems a bit obvious

What is the Race/Tribe of your primary character? Why did you pick that? - Wildwood Elezen. I came in to FFXIV expecting to main a Bard and (before I realized racial bonuses were miniscule) I read the descriptions of the races/tribes and decided this would be the best fit for a Bard.

What is the primary class/job of your primary character? Why did you pick that? - I have mained Bard for the entirety of FFXIV:ARR. I originally chose the Job because I have always liked archers, I am a very musical person in real life, and being able to be mobile on the battlefield. This has evolved as I have progressed in Coil turns, because of my mobility I am usually tasked with handling mechanics. I kite in T7, and handle the Brainjack/tether/bombs mechanics in T8. Tanking golems in T9, etc etc. I enjoy the added responsibility.

Which Grand Company is your primary character a part of? Why did you pick that? - I chose the Immortal Flames, even though it did kind of make me feel like I let the Twin Adders down! I listened to all of the "speeches" that were given by the GC leaders when I was first tasked with choosing one, and Raubahn's speech was the most invigorating. His speech alone is what guided my decision.

What is your primary character's weapon glamour of choice (if applicable)? Why did you pick that? - I don't glamour my weapon. Everything else is fair game, but I don what I use because I don't want someone to guess what my damage output is going to be based on my weapon, which is my Artemis Bow Nexus.

What do you think your primary character's signature ability is? Why do you think that? - This is a tough question for a Bard. A Bard's harp is iconic to it's role in FFXIV:ARR lore, but singing can be very situational in this game. If it were to be a song, I would definitely say Foe Requiem because it can be used generously, and even if I am grouped with another melee, as long as the healer DPS's it is useful. Paeon only needs to be used in long fights (or with people that can't manage TP properly) and Ballad is the same with MP replacing TP.

However, while singing is an integral part of the job if it played correctly, so is attacking. In the attack respect, I can easily say Bloodletter is my iconic move. Proc'ing a bloodletter multiple times in a row is the best. I always imagine a Windbite/Venomous Shot sticking, and then causing the enemy a momentary wince of pain which is the "lore" reason behind my extra arrow. Like I see an added opportunity to attack based on the bleeding

Is your primary character a part of a Free Company? If so, what is it? Why did you join that Free Company? - I created the Free Company Indaki is the leader of. We are The Beast Clan - tag is <RAWR!> We only have 60 members, because I didn't want to manage an enormous FC, however all of the members are pretty tight and share similar respects towards the game. We are casual, hardcore, raiding, crafting and basically everything in between. The catchline for my FC is the mastery over all aspects this game has to offer. You don't need a particular mindset to join, and no one pressures anyone else. We all have fun doing whatever in the game we have doing, with other FC members or without.

The World 1 (Geography)

What is your favorite region of Eorzea? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why? - I'm not sure I have most favorite "region", but I definitely have a favorite spot. The vista type view in Lower La Noscea looking out towards the Salt Strand, specifically the coral formation protuding from ocean shore. I love that spot. My least favorite region of the game is East Shroud. The beast tribe quests of this region play heavily into why I don't like it. I wasn't a fan of those quests.

What is your favorite spot to relax in Eorzea? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why? - My favorite spot to relax in Eorzea is my FC house, with a close second being my personal house. FC house trumps the personal because it's nice to see my FC members drop in and have quick chats with them. I don't have a least favorite spot.

What is your favorite spot to fight in Eorzea? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why? - Wherever a monster is that threatens me and my team is simultaneously my most and least favorite. Most favorite during the thrill of battle, and least favorite after the threat has been vanquished because there is no longer a reason to linger around.

What is your favorite spot to shop in Eorzea? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why? - I guess since I do almost all of my shopping in my housing area, Gridania Ward 2 is my favorite spot to shop Limsa feels like a crowded bazaar where I have to worry about fez-wearing monkeys stealing apples out of my pocket....so that would be my least favorite.

The World 2 (NPCs)

Who is your favorite NPC? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why? - Godbert. Hands down He is hilarious, and I look forward to every quest continuation with him in it. I guess Thancred would be my least favorite NPC, because I always attribute characters that get brainwashed to being weak at their core. He shouldn't be allowed to remain a Scion imo.

Who is your favorite City-State Leader? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why? - Raubahn, for reason see why I joined my GC. Least favorite is Kan-E-Senna. She seems almost emotionless, and while that may be a good quality for a leader to have, she makes me feel like she doesn't care enough about situations.

Who is your favorite Scion? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why? - Favorite is Urianger. He seems to have the most knowledge out of all of the Scions, and he's the one who always gives me money after I complete the hardest things in the game Least favorite is Thancred, for reason see my least favorite NPC.

Who is your favorite Primal? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why? - Favorite Primal is Titan. I still think Titan EX is one of the most fun fights in this game, even if you can over-gear the crap out of him now. I have a level of enjoyment from all of the primals, so I feel like identifying a Least Favorite would just be nitpicking.

Who is your favorite boss? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why? - Favorite boss is Nael deus Darnus because that is the hardest fight my static has completed as of yet. We learned t10, but need more damage so going back to farm Nael until everyone has i115 weapons. Least favorite is the Ape in Hullbreaker Isle, because I know that damned dirty ape sees me as a threat and always targets me with Stool Pelt. So....dirty.....

Music - I play FFXIV on PS4, but normally play with a headset on my computer for mumble with my static. I don't use push to talk, so that basically makes me mute my TV. I can't really give insight into why I don't like things I don't hear that often so I will skip most of this section. My favorite theme is the Gilgamesh fight, and my favorite boss theme is Nael deus Darnus.

Gameplay - I play on PS4, so I don't tinker with graphical qualities. I play with default graphics and default sound settings. I play with a controller.

The Future: - I am only going to answer one of these, since I am running out of time at work lol.

If another Final Fantasy-inspired dungeon or raid were to come out, what would it be inspired by? Why would you pick that? - I would like to see a FFXIV version of an alliance raid in the Tower of Babel from FFIV. I even created an encounter for this in a different thread asking to design a dungeon.

Link - I thought of this fight as a FFXIV cross-over.

Character Info 1:

What is the name of your primary character? How did you come up with that name?
Overlord Rikkustrife. Originally it was just a mix between Rikku and Cloud Strife, but since I have been using the name for so long, it became a name on its own, and it is her now her name, she has appeared in other games. Overlord is because Rikkustrife has no last name, so I needed something to put there.

What is the Race/Tribe of your primary character? Why did you pick that?
Miqo'te, Keeper of the Moon. She was a Mithra in XI, I like cat girls, and only the Keepers could have blue skin.

What is the primary class/job of your primary character? Why did you pick that?
Red Mage when it comes out. Bard was the one I chose, because of the hat, it is currently one of the best hats in the game, and will do until the Red Mage hat comes. Scholar is her second job, both Scholar and Bard fit her personally of being a supportive leader. Carpenter is her man DoH, and Botanist is her main DoL.

Which Grand Company is your primary character a part of? Why did you pick that?
Twin Adder. Because Gridania is similar to Windurst, it is the prettiest of the three, and nature and peace are great.

What is your primary character's weapon glamour of choice (if applicable)? Why did you pick that?
Garuda's Spine, Garuda has the nicest looking weapons, and the bow is great, and Artemis Atma, the bow harp is cool, if only the harp was used during songs.

What do you think your primary character's signature ability is? Why do you think that?
Will be a red mage ability when that comes out. As for now, probably bard songs, since she is a leader and she looks after people in her care, and is very supportive.

Is your primary character a part of a Free Company? If so, what is it? Why did you join that Free Company?
She was in 2, leader of one, and co-leader of the current, both with mostly the same people, currently called MythAdventurers, after the book series.

Where did your primary character come from? How do they feel about where they came from?
She came from the Black Shroud, she likes where she came from, she left because she loves exploring new areas, not with any issue of her home.

Does your primary character have any family? Who are they? What is their relationship with your primary character?
She has a mother. They get along great. She only left because she loves travelling and exploring, she misses her. Rainbow Shy is her significant other, she is another character of mine. She views her friends as family.

Blue-skinned Miqo'te, shortest height, longest tail, two scars. It was the design I liked the most of all the possible choices, and I still think she looks wonderful today. She wears blue clothing, can be anything, but if it is dyeable, it will be blue, she wears both revealing and covered clothing. She has a blue obsession, some say blue skin and blue clothes is tacky, but she does not care. She loves hats, particularly those with feathers in them, loves Amon's hat, except for the goggles, she hates covering her eyes, so does not wear that hat.

She is a supporter, and leader. She has a group of 8, including her, that she found throughout Eorzea, she guides them, they are rather an unorthodox group, and she put them together. She is their reason for being there, she will risk her life to save one in need. She dislikes those who are rude to or take advantage of those weaker than her, Rainbow Shy's jealousy, how her friends tend to get in trouble when she is not around. She is afraid of her friends getting hurt, and not being able to travel. Blue, Rainbow Shy, art, , exploring and friends make her happy. She is rarely sad, the absence of things that make her happy would be what makes her sad.

Does your primary character have a backstory? Were there any interesting events in their past that led them to become the people they are today?
She does, but it is the future that is interesting. This is the beginning of her story. She will learn how to make her body become incorporeal, and travel to different worlds. She can then recreate a body suitable for these worlds she explores. She will gain a vast amount of knowledge of many different worlds, witnessing the art that these world provides, and exploring the landscape and new cultures. Her love of exploring is how all this is possible. Her friends have a way to go with her, but it is a lot more crude since they do not have the ability to become incorporeal. She has many stories yet ahead of her, that I know of, but she is not aware of this yet.

Camp Tranquil, I love the look of the area around it, looks like houses built in trees, and the bridges connecting them, with the swamp area around it.
If you look at the area around from Camp Tranquil it looks just like a place with animals living there, and they don't seem like enemies.
Oghomoro Mines would be my least faveorite, very little going on in there visually. From a technical standpoint they look nice, just not artistically.
Though Outer La Noscea is one of the nicest areas otherwise.

My personal room, bed to share with Rainbow Shy, and built to suit Rikkustrife's tastes, can craft there, and everything needed is just outside the house.

Labyrinth of Ancients, and Syrcus Tower, 2 of the nicest designed areas in the game, and they are fun, despite the people you can end up with.
Least favorite is sapsa spawning grounds, the sahagins just don't stop coming and when doing beastmen quests on rainbow shy as dragoon, she ends up dying a lot,
all that magic water damage.

Gridania Markets is my favorite, just most familiar spot, habit to go there, least is Ul'dah's market, farthest from any aetheryte.

Yda, she is cute, always makes me laugh, her design is interesting in that we do not know what she looks like, and she is skilled at fighting.
Least favorite would be Vannes from Hildibrand story, worse kind of person.

Kan-E Senna, she is calm, wants peace, but will fight if required, she seems to be the one that understands the most that each city-state would be better united.
Least is Merlwyb, she caused most of the issues with their beast tribes, trying to get more land by taking theirs.

Yda is my favorite, same reasons as my favorite NPC, least favorite would be , well I don't have a least favorite, Thancred I guess, though I like them all, perhaps Alphinaud, I like him, he just seems naive at times.

Garuda, I liked her extreme fight since it seemed more about working together than dodging stuff. Titan, I think his fights are overrated, being hard does not
always mean better, plus he has the worse weapon designs of not just primals but in the entire game. Garuda also has a great design, Titan does not. Shiva would
be my second favorite, her story and design are great as well.

Halatali HM, I liked the final boss was fighting gladiators, Gilgamesh, just a fun fight. Least Titan, least favorite design of the primals, and i like fights that have more than just dodging..

Final Fantasy V, The Void, they already hinted at in in the main scenario, it is one of my favorite Final Fantasies. the void would be a place that they could have fun designing, the world would not need to feel cohesive, since it could have towns from different eras, cultures, landscapes right next to each other, since the void sucked up towns. Lunatic Pandora would be another option that would not be far-fetched to fit in story.

rapier, and red mage gear, love red mage, if you could not tell by now.

-Robert Ackerman. It's my real name.

-Hyur. I like to represent. Also since I used my real name, I felt I should pick the most human option.

-I started as an Arcanist, then went to 50 as an Armorer, worked my way up as a Paladin, and now I mostly play Scholar.

-The Maelstrom. I feel like Limsa as a whole kind of represents freedom, accepting the good with the bad about that freedom. I respect it, and so Limsa sort of feels at home to me.

-Zantetsuken. Though I mostly play Scholar, I usually just use whatever is equipped. I love the Zantetsuken in design and background.

-Adloquium. I feel like plenty of other Scholars see it as a secondary heal. I use it as my primary heal, and I've gotten good with the timing on when it wears off, so I rarely ever miss Galvanize. I don't run out of MP either.

-Wardens of Unity. I joined due to a Linkshell about Chocobo's, which advertised itself on the beta forums. Most of the Linkshell members joined that FC and so I did too, and I don't regret it.

My characters name is "Marik Destiel". Marik, is a name even before I knew what YuGiOh was, and I'll never forget when Battle City came on for the first time and I saw when they revealed Marik and his name being that and I was like "HEY! I use that name in a lot of games I play hahaha!" It's been so many years, I really don't remember where I first saw the name, but it stuck with me. Destiel is the OTP of Dean and Castiel from SPN. They're my OTP <3 and I love the name Destiel so much it had to be my surname.

What is the Race/Tribe of your primary character? Why did you pick that?
It is Hyur, it was the race I personally believed had the most choices when it came to making Marik who I truly wanted him to be!

It used to be SMN, because SMN has been my favorite job in every Final Fantasy it has appeared in until now... just my personal opinion obviously, SMN just isn't SMN in this game, it's a DoT mage, and I don't like playing a DoT mage. So, thanks to the introduction to an actual DPS NIN (unlike XI) I've started maining NIN now, and I'm so happy I've found a job I really enjoy now!

Well I had to go with the GC of the nation I started in which was Gridania! Twin Adders <3, I love them so much (mostly b/c they remind me of Windurst) and that place used to be my home <3

Hmm... well I actually don't glamor weapons except on my WAR atm (can't find any good daggers I like just yet) and I used the Allagan Axe, it's still one of my favorite axes in the game My entire WAR outfit it sorta geared around that axe.

Well since I main NIN now, I guess that would be my Ninjutsu, which is a blast to use! Adds depth I personally like to the job.

Well I actually followed some of my fellow Seraphians from XI to the server Hyperion when I came to XIV:ARR, and unfortunately they eventually split up, I had met the core FRESH members in Garuda StoryMode as I went through it and they really liked me so they invited me to their LS, they were in a different FC themselves at the time, and when they broke off from them and started their own FC, and I was FCless basically, they gave me home I'm so glad I finally found <3

Well I actually based some of Marik's looks obviously from my XI character as well as some of my own irl features as well, I like to put a piece of me into characters I create when I play games with such extensive options. He isn't modest at all lol, he loves being light and breezie when ever battle calls! He doesn't like being weighed down by too much armor, plus he likes the attention sometimes it garners from the fellas!

Marik is very much happy and very sweet dis-positioned, he only gets angry or infuriated when you've hurt someone that he loves, sometimes he's very shy and timid around new people. He LOVES magic, and still dabbles in it as often as he can even if he loves breaking out his daggers and axe to go slay something. He's mostly afraid of being alone, probably he worst fear, that and spiders!(I will admit I'm an arachnophobic irl too haha). He's mostly only sad if he's alone, or someone hurts the ones he loves. Again, only really gets angry if you hurt the people he is close to, and if you throw spiders on him!

Etoile Elysium. The name for my healer type characters in previous MMOs. The fields of Elysium are more or less like the Greek version of Heaven and I found it fitting for a healer. Etoile is french for star and was something I came up with from a Google Search.

Miqote. Seeker of the Moon. The Miqote look just matches the look I've been using for Etoile in past MMOs. I fantasia'ed into a Lalafell though, in order to match races with my wife.

White Mage / Scholar. Both are mains and I alternate depending on which is necessary. Again, I main healer in past MMOs and just wanted to keep up with tradition.

Etoile's been a longtime resident of Gridania and at the start of the story, has just returned home from a long trip.

Two brothers. Edyrem and Eliote Elysium. Edyrem is basically my heal slave for alts in other MMOs. In character, I would say that he's an apprentice conjurer who often volunteers to accompany Etoile and her companions but is often shot down due to his youth and inexperience. Eliote is a character I use when I wanna play a guy character and is just a gender bent version of Etoile. In story, he's Etoile's twin brother.

Etoile's not really that fashion conscious so she just wears whatever's available and gives her the most advantage in battle.

Etoile is generally quiet and usually lets other people do the talking. She however finds herself in situations where she needs to take the lead and takes responsibility when needed. Her longtime travelling companion is Ayumii Fukuda(my irl wife) and there is rarely a time when they don't raid together. She caters to Ayumii's impulsive personality and will often defer to her on where to go or what to do next. She enjoys crafting when not in battle and loves cooking food and making equips for her friend to use. She hates spiders and The Thousand Maws of Totorak repulses her!

Nothing of note. Etoile grew up in Gridania and always looked forward to being a great White Mage. Along the way, she picked up a book and adopted the way of the Scholar on the road to becoming a better Healer.

Gridania, partly because it was my starting area and partly because the lush environment made the most of the games graphics. Uldah would be my least favorite then, since deserts are just barren and doesn't make for very good scenery.

Our FC house over in Lavender beds! It's a usual meeting place for FC mates and there's a convenient Market Board + Summoning Bell nearby. Least favorite would have to be Limsa, if only because the map was so confusing to navigate around. I kept getting lost!

Coil! Nothing like difficult fights that push you to use your character to the fullest. Leasts favorite is Thousand Maws of Totorak due to the many times I've gotten this dungeon in Duty Roulette. Also, those sticky floors only make the dungeon much slower. and the boss fights weren't that good.

The Market Board near our FC House. Just teleport and it's a few steps away. We also have vendors inside our house so I almost never have to leave. Least favorite would have to be Uldah since the MB is so far from the Aetheryte.

Gaius. He (and the other Tribunus) were just really good villains. imo, the FF series hasn't had very good villains since FFVII. Plus, the final fight with him in Ultima weapon was just epic. As for least favorite, I can't really remember their names, but that group of people who tested your ability to fight Titan by basically forcing you to run around on annoying fetch quests.

Nanamo Ul Namo after seeing her in 2.3 main story. Merlwyb, for the simple reason that I just like Kann E Senna better, making her last.

Does Louisioux count? I have never met him since I hadn't played 1.0 so there is this air of mystery about him, part of the reason why I want to see Coil through to the end. Urianger is my least favorite, but only because he hasn't had much time to shine compared to the others.

Leviathan. Just having him rock the boat and getting hit by an actual tidal wave. Now I know how my enemies in past FFs feel. Also, the Levi fight is one of the fights where the SCH shines. Playing as a SCH, almost every ability in my skill list needed to be used to be effective. Least favorite would be Ramuh as it was mostly about dealing with mechanics and not about healing effectively.

Ultima HM. Again, from a healer perspective, it's less about dealing with mechanics and more on effective healing. I love this fight as a healer. Here's hoping for an Extreme mode. Least favorite, any boss from Totorak. Bleh.

Music:

What is your favorite song in FFXIV? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

It has got to be the Ultima theme. Just a very fitting and powerful song for the last boss of the game. Can't really think of a least favorite right now.

What is your favorite battle theme in FFXIV? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

It has got to be Torn from the Heavens, the song that plays in various FATEs and the battle music for Hydra, Chimera and Castrum Meridianum. Aside from the fact that it gets the blood pumping, it's an arrangement of the classic FF Crystal Theme. Rearranged ff music like the FF2 battle, FF6 boss theme and Battle on the Big Bridge all get Honorable Mentions! Least favorite, prolly the Coil battle music. I just wish Coil had more variety in terms of battle music.

What is your favorite field/town theme in FFXIV? Why is that? Least Favorite? Why?

The music that plays during events like Moonfire Faire and All Saints Wake. I remember having fun just running around as a ghost, and the music only added to the festive theme. I don't really have a least favorite. Nothing comes to mind.

Titan theme. Nothing says "Sh*t just got real" than the opening. Least would probably be Ramuh. The song itself is okay, it just doesn't feel like an actual boss theme.

Near maximum on PC. I've had to turn on LOD Streaming and set Anti-Aliasing to Bilinear, otherwise, my screen freezes occasionally.

What sound settings do you play with? Why is that?
Default settings? With Japanese voices, just a habit of mine to always choose the Japanese track when available.

Do you play with a gamepad or with a Keyboard/Mouse? Why is that?
Keyboard and mouse. Tried and tested control scheme for MMOs.

Future:

What Class/Job would you most like to see in the game? Why?

Judge/Tribunus class. Just, the armor is really cool. Would be interesting to experience the story from the Garleans point of view too.

What region would you like to visit most in the world? Why?
In line with the first question, I'd really like to set foot on Garlean soil! See what life is like on the other side.

If another Final Fantasy-inspired dungeon or raid were to come out, what would it be inspired by? Why would you pick that?

I'd love to see a Shadow of Colossus style battle against Alexander. Alexander would not just be the boss but he would also be the dungeon itself!

What item or set of items would like most like to see in the game? Why?

Well, if I can't have the Tribunus/Judge Job, then I'd really want to get a piece of their armor.
